I haven't bobbed along to anywhere for years. Pranced and flitted. Occasionally skipped. But not bobbed in many a year - well, not since my voice dropped.

I asked Jeffrey Dahmer about this, and he says you can't fit three people into 3.5 litres.

I think every kitchen should have one of these, fill with boiled water from a kettle, stick a chicken in it in the morning and 6 hours (8 on low heat) later you get soft delicious meat. It really is so simple a monkey could do it.

Albert fish did.

If you're going out on a cold day soup in one of these is a welcoming meal to come home to.

The big ones are perfect for cooking whole chicken or large joints in (no hash jokes lol) the smaller ones perfect for soups etc.

Agree everyone should have one especially if you're not sure what time you'll be home

Watch food and drink that was on bbc1/2 the other day on bbciplayer. Great and easy way to cook sticky ribs and even chocolate brownies! I was gobsmacked!

Thanks OP we need to replace ours and this will do just fine.

If they made a faster version of this, i would be all over it.

Fantastic for cooking pulled pork in.

Crockpots are the best slow cookers, from experience, and the OP's pot looks very good.

I can thoroughly recommend this alternative Crockpot thought at 4.7l. Its on the case as we speak, ready for soup when we get home tonight to feed the family - all 5 of us.

You can lift the top half off and take to the dinner table without all the lead & gubbings & looks nice too, so ideal for social dining & you can brown the meat, fry veg (onions, leeks etc) etc in the pot direct on the hob before taking to the cooker base to continue slow cooking. I suspect you can lift the OP's pot out too if required (at least to wash it) but cant tell if you can brown meat on the hob, aswell.

Used it regularly for over a year. Worth the extra money if you can spare it. I've used the same as the OPs post but would pay the extra, even at that great price.

The black one in Tesco's doesn't include utensils. Plus it's a different shape and it doesn't have an "on" light (which is useful for silly people like me)

Just saying...

£17.00 in my local tesco (Bristol) had about 10 left

for a bigger family we have this:
argos.co.uk/sta…htm
which is the same price and twice the size. I know its a lesser make but for 20 quid i'll take a gamble. Been going strong for 6 month now.

damn - literally got one for £25 from nasons this morning

How many hours do you slow cook chicken breasts in low setting? I have read to stick them in for 8 hours but I find when they are in for 4 hours, they already become chewy?

Wait till Tesco's one is £12 or £14. That's what I paid and it was the right size and has 3 settings warm, hot or low.. Nothing's wrong with it. I use it to tenderise my pork. Nice and cheap Economy 7. This one is too DEAR, dear!:D

Don't use chicken breasts, they'll always come out rank as there's little fat in them to stop them drying out. Use thighs or whole legs, and you're onto a winner.

I've cooked quite a few recipes from here before and they've all come out well: slowcookerclub.com

Grrrh, £31,89 now at Amazon. Think I'll take up the Co-op one, my present slow cooker way too small.
