Is there a trick to get the white in the 3 for 2 promo? The 3 for 3 advert specifically says not including white and when I try, it comes up at £30. It does allow me to add the magnolia though on 3 for 2.
You'll be better off using tap water, this stuff is useless! Even after 4-5 coats, it's still useless, don't waste your time, effort or money on this rubbish!
Like painting with milk. Transparent. Your time is worth a couple of quid extra. Try Leyland trade at screwfix for ceilings. Bit soft but covers a dream. Amstead contract good £15plus vat. 10l Be vary putting cheap contract matt over old silk though it can craze. Or it's gone crocodile as we in trade say.( Crocodile skin)
This is £14 in Wickes! Just painted the ceilings a few weeks ago and was Fab! Wish I had of went to Homebase now!!!

I've just done 3 rooms with this stuff and I can tell you it's not watery at all and had good coverage, it's a bargain at this price.
I'd like to echo the points made above about this paint being a false economy.

I'm currently using a 10l tub of Dulux white emulsion to paint the living room ceiling. The difference is night and day.
Awful paint. Not worth the money. I’d advise on Leyland Trade from Screwfix as someone previously has mentioned. You’ll need one coat of Leyland in comparison to 3/4 of this awful Crown stuff. Generally if a trade company such as Screwfix/ToolStation doesn’t sell it, you know all the contractors won’t use it so steer clear
Having used this on several house renovations.... it’s perfect to use as a diluted wash coat & base coat for fresh plaster. Then one coat of your finish colour is ample! Large ceilings I would use high quality Matt white. Again different strokes for different folks (sorry couldn’t resist the pun!) but it’s iseful and budget redecorations this is GREAT value 🏽
Hmmm, has crown changed hands I wonder?
I bought 10 L years ago and it was thick as ice cream. covered well ...
Get the Trade version of this paint.
Much better, not much more expensive, pretty thick as well, good coverage.
From my experience better than: Wickes own stuff, Leyland, Dulux, Dulux trade (not from paint centre as this is different stuff price x3), Johnstones

Toolstation sells it for £15
Friend of mine (tradesman) is using only this stuff, same as me.

toolstation.com/cro…422

Comes out truly matt.
For skimmed walls painted in summer time add 0.5-1l of water to get smooth surface.
Plasterboard walls in this weather may need much more 1-2l per 10l of paint as paint dries crazy fast on them.
Painting on solid damp walls use neat.

Obviously mix it well with paddle mixer. Hand mixing is not enough for any paint.
I agree with everyone above go for Leyland trade

I got this recently from Wickes and it's not great. I did 2-3 coats and it still doesn't look good.

I then used the Leyland trade from Screwfix for £10 in another room and it was miles better. It even covered up dark brown varnish really well.with one coat.

I could have got away with one coat on a plastered wall but went for 2

If you think this is quality, then good luck to you, I dread to think what your workmanship looks like!
Literally just finished my sons room using this paint. Definitely not watery or transparent.
Another vote for Leyland trade Matt emulsion from screwfix. £10 for 10L. Bought & used it yesterday, great coverage, lots of pigment makes it quite thick so maybe it could be thinned a bit and still cover well, but I used it neat to cover a strong previous colour. A bargain at a tenner for a big tub.
Gotta admit I have had consistent results with Leyland trade over the years for white and mag.
Their colour mixes are thinner.
Permaglaze , colour mixes great quality tho outlets are rare.
