Why shouldn't you stir prior to use?? I thought that was essential?

i normally shake the can vigorously before opening, heard something about the paint runs/drips if you stir it.

should just call it yellow on the tin, as it will be soon.

What would you recommend instead?

it's in my opinion a better gloss than the dulux equivalent.

B&Q own brand is 100% better than this!

That would be after 2010 when the EU told us we were putting too much white spirit in our paint. I think you will find it was Dulux that the lower VOC affected most. Strange though that their water based paints which didn't have the nasties in to start with stayed white. Another bit of useful or useless information for you is what keep white paint white is the sun or ultra violet light. That is why your skirting boards behind fridges etc go yellow a lot quicker.
