That’s a big 5 by 5, good buddy
This should help the dogging up at Portsdown Hill.
Just need a burner and a Melos echo chamber, then you're away

I remember eyeballing this girl in 1988
Still together today
Happy days
I used to have an 18 foot Di-Pole in the loft, every time a clicked to mike, every telly on the block went all crackly !

CQDX
On the illegal AM frequency it was 16 for a copy, not 14.
I had my Turner Signal Kicker mag mount set up on an ironing board in
my bedroom.
Next time I saw my neighbours one evening one of the daughters asked me who Nutty Noah was as she was enjoying some music on her stereo then all of a sudden my voice came booming through her speakers with " 16, 16, Nutty Noah, do ya copy?"
Her dad was a busby as well so I was slightly on edge for the next few weeks.
Happy days
Does anyone still use cb radio on the road these days?
I do about 30k a year, would be nice to have a chat once in a while with fellow breakers.

Don't think I've seen a car with a cb aerial on it for almost 20 years and that was after a 10 year gap between the last sightings lol
These now seem to be making a come back as they are legal to use in a car where a phone is not
What’s the signal range on these? I don’t drive haulage but might be fun to stick the aerial in the loft and tune in...
Loved my old Communicator Ni 440dx with a black Turner m+3db hand mic, some good fun/memories from back then.

My first cb radio was an Icom icb-1050 still have one in the loft lol.

The internet doesn't have the same connection.
Those were the days, if the gain to high knocked out the TV
I have been on/off the CB since the AM days and although I have a CB in my Camper Van there is at 'most' only a couple of people using all 80 channels in Nottingham. There isn't even any truckers left as most of them don't own their own rigs anymore and the haulage firms won't install them because of the risk of an accident.

Most people have gone over to PMR as you can connect the high power handheld Baofeng via the internet so you can communicate Worldwide.
I loved my days mucking about on there.... Upper Level, Low low, high high, Sideband AM and worrying about the range as i "bled" all over next doors FM....

A HomeBase, the K40 Mag mount... The eyeballs, the meetups, the channel 9 mischief, the "Same old" people that occupied the same channel every nite, and the ... .. ..

Well - malaise....

I met loads of people through this and am still mates with a lot of them.....

Can somebody give me a rig check please?
