A new ultra-compact radio from CRT, this is a full power multi-standard radio, offering all the legal European bands including the UK 40 channels and the legal AM/FM European band.

The new "N" version has identical features to the original but now includes a s-meter in the LCD display which shows both receive signal and transmit power.

An extra £9 will get you a Moonraker magmount, fitted mine to the car last week and surprised how busy the cb radio channels are, I thought hardly anyone used them any more.

Hi, seems to be £54.95 including the Moonraker - so £11 extra.

BTW, please tell me if the lighter adapter as cr*p as it looks and is the power cable captive in the radio or plug-in? If plug-in what type is it?

Thanks

Apparently not: wiki dodah

SSB and AM legalisation
Following most other European countries, Ofcom proposed to adopt European Communication Committee Decision (11)031 in October 2013. This would permit the use of Single Sideband and AM operation on the CEPT CB radio band, and Ofcom proceeded with legislation to this effect on 27 June 2014.

The new AM/SSB legislation only permits the use of new and approved sets, not 'legacy' multimode sets.

AM SSB was much more interesting than FM when I had a CB in the late 80's - you could hear truckers from Europe and America.

Anyone else remember the days when we fastened burners to our sets? We could speak to people all over the world! Ha
Don't forget to license that puppy lol
A 2kW linear to complement the rig and Bob's your uncle - TV reception in the whole neighbourhood is gone haha.
I'm intrigued to see so many CB deals appearing in recent weeks...Is it making a comeback?

Breaker breaker channel 31 #if you have nobody to talk to# [Video]

The audio is terrible, and that’s on the bench, imagine if in a car
the neighbors used to love me with my jumbo plus 1kw burner all connected to me yagi quad beam, i swear the lights would dim too. ive still got one in the attic but knowing my luck itll blow if i turned it on after all this time, its got me intrigued though
@SOUTHWALES - thanks for the link to a cheaper deal

What's interesting to me is that both of your deals and the one on Amazon all trace back to the same guy in Redruth in Cornwall!! Wonder if L. Royston Jones has other CB and Ham hats to wear.
Lol, takes me back to the 80's

Had various Cobra rigs etc, sideband with high and low channels, burners, a CLR-2 twig on a scaffold pole in the garden

Remember the GP27, Thunderpole etc.

Was a small time rig doctor, but most of us lost interest shortly after it went legal.

Just bought a couple of these 2nd hand... tiny tiny radios would fit almost anywhere in the car... no frills for some old tech... when people used to talk to each other...
