Looks like a good deal. I still don’t understand why they sell 32gb kits which cost so much more than just buy two 16gb kits. Anyone know?

In this instance, the 32GB would be cheaper per GB, if the 16GB were not 49% off
But there is no problem buying 2x 16gb kits right?
Question: this or 32GB 3200mhz RAM for similar price?

Ryzen or Intel build?

Ryzen 3800x

Then I’d either go 3200 CL16 or 3600 (CL16 if you can find it or CL18) Ryzen prefers 3600 CL16 according to AMD. And has some issues with anything over 3733Mhz I believe!

Where have AMD said that? Was contemplating this for a new build with a 3700x maybe a 3600 / x

I believe it's something to do with the way that the infinity fabric scales, with 3733Mhz being the highest speed at which it scales at a 1:1 ratio. Past that and it switches to 2:1. There's a useful graphic below

Me either till I saw what AMD said I was looking for 4000 MHZ ram, which you can still get, but price performance wise it's better to put extra money in graphics or CPU or anywhere else I think!

I guess you could always clock it down to 3733Mhz and see if you can tighten the timings on it.

Personally, I'm on the lookout for another 16Gb kit of Ripjaws V 3200 MHZ, and also for a Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler to replace my stock AMD one on a 3700X
