Really that much of a price difference? For 240gb? The cheapest 120gb I could find back then was the OCZ Agility 3 for £90! Feel stung now...

April 2016 and you could get a cheapo 120GB for £23

Sandisk 120GB's were frequently £30 to £35 around the same time.

I think it's fair to say we all got rather fed up with all the repetitive super cheap SSD deals being posted back then!

Anyway that was then, this is now, so heat from me for this deal.

I plugged in my new SSD and used cloning software- then unplugged the old drive and plugged in the SSD. Was easy and quick and the PC started in under 10 seconds so it seemed to do the trick!
The thought of using old hard drives fills me with dread to be honest.

P*sses all over the SanDisk SSD Plus, probably outperforms the Ultra ii in most aspects (but not 100% sure), and no idea about the new Ultra 3D.

Samsung 850 Evo is probably a bit better overall but this SSD is competitive with it and retains performance even when nearly full, something many consumer SSDs struggle with.

Please excuse my ignorance but are all ssd plugs and fitments universal? I’m wondering if this would give my 2010 MacBook Pro a kick up the backside. Thanks.

I bought a 500gb Samsung SSD for £100 last year followed bya crucial recertificated 1tb ssd for £120 a few months later. What a bargain they were.

Cheers, Mike. So this would be a straight swap then? I’m thinking of ordering a bracket to replace my optical drive with my original hard drive for storage and using this as my main hard drive.

Absolutely! I just fitted a 240GB Sandisk SSD in my 2010 Unibody Macbook and the boot times are fantastic, I can go from having it shut down to turned on, booted up, and browsing a page in Safari in under 60 seconds. I'm not how much RAM you've got in there but you could look at improving that as well.

This drive is matched to Acronis for cloning. It will be a bit more reliable than the others quoted.
Also make sure you use Storage Executive SSD management software otherwise the lifespan of the drive will be shortened.

Is TRIM not good enough? I ask because apparently my SSD is failing and I was going to go back to mechanical due to the high amount of writing my drives do.

Sick of ssd deals..... How about decent case deals... Ain't seen one on P400s at all

As far as I know it specific to BX drives because of the way they write data to achieve a decent speed.
If you don’t use it they don’t last as long as they could

Shame that SSDs gone up so much in price. If they don't.come down they will die out

If it's a 2tb HDD or a 150gb SSD. I'll choose the Harddrive any day, what could I fill SSD with? Maybe 2 games and a OS at most

There were heaps of SSD deals back then, I got a 480GB Sandisk Ultra for £80 in March 2016 which would be a massive improvement over that SandForce POS (I have a 60GB Agility 3 and by some miracle it hasn't died yet, but performance is appalling!)

This is still a good deal.
I bought this for £62 on Black Friday.

You need to download the app and then look for the status bar and click on it and then absolutely nothing happens, so I contacted amazon customer service via the app, go to contact us section via the menu, after a few options live chat begins, explain the issue, they put me through to another person and then finally he added it. Tool about 4 minutes, but it does get added. I can add my screenshot if u prefer
