When you think 250GB goes for around 28 quid, this is a good deal.
I know this isn't as good as the MX500, but would it be good enough for extra storage in a laptop to run games, files off etc ? I am just thinking, an extra 2TB for 150 quid seems amazing value ?

The few reviews i have read say that it isn't great at writing (with some noting it dropped out), but the reading is spot on. So i can't see why it wouldn't be a great 2nd drive for games etc, as most of the time it wouldn't be writing constantly, once everything is installed.

Basically this.

BX500 has no DRAM. Eventually with a lot of consecutive writing operations, the cache will give out and the drive will slow down for a while.

However apart from that, it's still a very fast SATA drive. Fill it up with stuff and any reads done will still be ruddy fast. This is great value. Heat.

Is writing 25-100Megabyte files every 10 seconds considered high usage?
Does suitable nas storage?

Does suitable nas storage?

Yes this is fine for Nas storage that is mostly read, rather than written to.
Would this work ok in my mid-2010 MacBook Pro? I currently have a regular SATA I 128gb SSD.

Should do, might not get top speeds as that MBP might only be SATA 2? Still be fine too.
