Finally a sodimm deal! Even if it is Crucial heat added anyway
Thanks ordered
Cheers. Ordered this on the deal from LaptopsDirect and ironically paid with Amazon Pay, but they left me waiting with no communication for over a week, and then when I investigated the status of the order, told me they were awaiting stock.

Amazon had the same SODIMM's for less money and Prime next day delivery.

LaptopsDirect order got cancelled, oddly enough.
Thanks ordered too.
If I wasn't so broke
Tempted to get another stick at this price. My a300 didn't want to let this play with my dual rank Ortial for some reason

Nothing is wrong with crucial, after all their RAM is the best on the market

I got my 2666 ram for my HP omen from cex for £45 +1.95 postage. Now I have a healthy 24GB. Their price went up since due to covid-19 and them not being able to buy more stock. I drove past 1 cex the other day and their shelves looked empty.

Seemingly the difference is nominal.

What about mixing ram speeds, say this bundle and another couple sticks at 3200 or so? Am I right in thinking all ram has to run at the same speed so that setup would create a bottleneck?

It would run at the speed of the lowest chip, it’s always best to buy the same ram speed incase of any incompatibility issues, this ram is C19 as well which you will have to be aware of since that plays a large factor into how fast the data is accessed
Good to know all the best
Great for Pac-Man setups

Yes you can in most models. It's more likely you need an ssd than ram though if it's terrible slow.

Ram allows more multitasking ssd is raw speed.

Even just booting up is painful, I'm amazed by how slow it is, i know 450 quid is cheap these days but even so i was like 😳 running football manager is like torture n all. I'll send a link of the model she purchased

As mentioned before, HDD is the bottleneck and an SSD will increase the speed drastically.

This will however require you to reinstall Windows OS. So make sure you backup all your data.

Should be able to upgrade both RAM and SSD. Will make a huge difference

If you have 2 different ram speed the they will both run at lower speed one. Sometime there maybe incompatibility issues. But I have witnessed it knly a few times. You have tonsee if the motherboard will accept it as some can only support upto a certain speed.

There was only 1 in my life when I had a matching set of 4 rams sticks as I found a bargain on Corsair Veangeance DDR3 16GB set

I upgraded one of these the other day for a customer. Please beware they are not simple to upgrade. If you are planning on doing yourself make sure you watch a YouTube video first

Also if it's the same motherboard in yours as the model I upgraded. It has a spare nvme slot you can add a fast ssd without having to remove the 1 tb storage. It only has 1 ram slot so you would need either a single 8gb or 16gb sodimm.

You're preaching to the converted...all of my builds have crucial memory. If you're not doing anything onerous it's absolutely fine. Would just be nice to see someone other than crucial reduce their memory occasionally!

PS - I bought two and added heat, it wasn't meant as a slight on crucial

This. I've even bought cl19, dual rank, same speed and not got past post. DDR4 with Ryzen is seemingly very finicky

Its actually the opposite 450 is a half decent laptop these days, if you know what to buy.
You can normally get a ryzen 5 3500u laptop with an nvme ssd for round £450 which is fast and will boot up in a few seconds and it will play some basic games due to having built in vega 8 graphics.

Ah, used to have some crucial ballistix sports (ddr3) until I upgraded, overclocked quite well
Been on the look for this. Voted hot for the price - This deals going to get hot pretty soon. Thank you.
Many thanks OP - also been looking for a good priced, quality 16GB SODIMM module. Voted hot

This isn't the best memory choice for an A300, the high latency and lower clock speed has quite a performance hit on the Vega GPU.

I know its not a laptop, what im saying is you would of had a much better computer with fast speeds and capable of playing basic games for 450 if you went for a ryzen 5 3500u laptop instead of a 2 generations old i3, 450 not enough to get a decent fast pc of that type ( built in monitor )

Hi, Used to rate Crucial products very highly however was concerned to be told that in order for the manufacturers to process an RMA for product replacement the faulty item needs to be sent to Crucial in The Czech Republic. Not viable for some of their products considering they won't reimburse return shipping costs. Thought that they used to deal with RMA returns at East Kilbride, Scotland however this is no longer the case and possibly has not been for a good while. Thinking twice about buying their products further to being told this to be honest however at a guess returning faulty purchases to the original retailer is the way to go.

No he didn't. All in one's have a slight inflation for convinience. Vast majority are 400 plus. Just clone to an ssd (not sure when he bought it which might explain not coming with one).

i was £454. Got the 17" lenovo ideapad 3 17are05. Ryzen 5 4500u upgraded the ram to 8gb (just to make sure it was dual channel will be upping it to 20gb with this deal) the ssd to 500gb and the larger battery. delivered. its quick it outperforms my girlfriends HP Envy x360 in almost every way apart from the screen quality. For the £300 saving ill happily live with it not being a convertable.
