Tiptop spot! Lowest ever!

This is an amazon price match on the ebuyer deal, so be interesting to see if once the ebuyer stock has gone, amazon twig its a bit too cheap and pull it!
This is much better than the earlier deal posted.

Good price - got this for £70 on BIGTHANKS day (so = £60)

you'll need a fixing/ conversion/ kit if you are installling in desktop (3.5), unless you run to lots of spares, try amazon.co.uk/gp/…e=1
The 500Gb version is potentially £110 delivered 1st class via Topcashback (or £115.19 without c/back)
Thanks

The only competitor to this drive is the Samsung Evo 850, but that costs £10 more.

Are the Evo 850/860 worth the extra?
personally Id said no, but I have no experience with the Samsung. For the performance you are getting any increase will be marginal.

Still too expensive, needs to drop below the magical £100 mark before buying

Have waited some years for it to drop below this and missed the last time it did before they rather disgustingly jacked the prices way up again - so will keep waiting until it hits the magic number

K thanx bye
Reading the reviews it seem there is no cloning software in the frustration free packing. So you might want to pay the extra £3 for the standard if you need it.
Is this made of dark matter?
The weight says 100kg

Yes and its often a bit more expensive than just £10. Watched the vid and he says just get the cheapest, which gives the Crucial the edge as the performance is the same.

I got the Kingston drive 2 weeks ago, very happy with it!

It's also dropped £5 in price since I got it.
for the same price the Crucial is better and in many cases much better - it is better than any existing drive around this price range.

Kingston has been producing reliable flash drives for a long time, however for the same price or close the crucial is better and has 10gb more.

I wouldn't buy a no brand hard drive with no quick recourse if it goes wrong for the saving of a few pounds. 6% of owners of the MX300 series rated it 3*s or less. For the Drevo, 12% voted it 3*s or less. For the Kingston it was 4% voted it 3*s or less. There is not really enough data on the MX500 model.

The hard drive is the most important thing on your expensive computer. It holds your data and it will be a pain to replace it if it goes wrong. Other things you can swap in and swap out but the hard drive may have very hard to replace or even irreplaceable data on it.

yes, I couldn't find a direct comparison for smaller sizes, but it is the same model so performance should be very similar. The drive is very new and only the 1tb came out initially, the other sizes followed.

There is plenty of free cloning software - easus are a leading data recovery company and provide free cloning software:

download.cnet.com/Eas…tml - here you dont have to give an e-mail address

or from the software company itself easeus.com/dow…tml

You can put any e-mail you like in the e-mail box - it will still allow you to download the software

Correct me if I'm wrong...haven't these been the same price give or take a couple of quid, for past few months?
they were a couple of pounds more recently. This is the cheapest at least for a while. Started off at £70, then £68, now £67.

Thanks! Great feedback just what I needed
How does this compare to the Samsung EVO drives?
Still using a Crucial MX100 256GB as a Windows disk, still working great and also bought another one off eBay (new) not long after. Good fast drives, I've heard the MX500 is much better than the MX300 line. If you value your data, only go with a respected model/manufacturer.

And Samsung is faster, at least by £10 Seriously - it is faster, tested myself both with BlackMagic app.

It is just to point everyone in right direction who needs to clone Data to your new Crucial SSD using Acronis.
Save yourself another £3 and like it.. Cheers!

Macrium Reflect is also free, i've used it to clone several systems...

I have both the 250 GB EVO 850 and the 250 GB MX500. Speed-wise they're similar (test on my own pc below), but the MX500 is a more modern and superior drive, which is expected given the release dates: 2017 vs 2014. More realistic is to compare the MX500 with the new EVO 860 (2018), but that's a lot pricier for now.

Guys..it’s now even cheaper. £66.98! Haha
Have just replaced my standard 1TB HDD with this and it has given my laptop a new lease of life, very pleased and heat given! Ordering the 500GB one for the wife’s work laptop tonight.

You should check that the drive has not been encrypted first. If it has, you'll have trouble using the cloned drive.
No longer this price. Now £68.38. Cheapest now at e-buyer
I need some help please. I bought this drive it arrived last friday, but when i try to connect it to my PC with Windows 7 or my laptop, it does not pick up the drive at all, it just says DISK 1, it appears in disk management on the left but the right side is completely blank, it doesnt even say unallocated or doesnt even allow me to do anything else to it. Now im connecting it via a usb 3 portable hard disk case, i have 2 of these cases and cables, tried both. I wanted to just clone my existing OS right on to th enew HD, but it wont even recognise it. Now ive heard somewhere that it might be faulty. What worries me it arrived in a plastic sleeve sealed in white paper card which was sealed in amazon box. The last crucial drive i ordered last year came in a crucial branded box, this obviously didnt. How has anyone else recieved theres from Amazon and have they had the same issue as me? shoud I try and just insert it right in my pc, but then i cant do anything else with it, as my existing os needs to be cloned ideally

This isn’t a forum for IT Support. If you’re not IT illiterate support your local IT fix it shop that can help. If it’s a hard disk fault they’ll suggest sending it back. If it’s user error they’ll set it up for you.
