Not a bad price for a 240gb (not the fastest write, but decent read). Decent reviews for it too...

Stop with this nonsense, most of the time they just don't (speaking from my personal experience multiple times). Prices change, deal with it, you don't go back complaining to BP if the fuel price drops day after you filled your car.

Most probably Amazon will ask you to return the item and buy another at cheaper price, hardly worth £2.

Yep, i'm guessing that too. Especially if you do some video editing or stuff like that. My next ssd will probably be a 840 pro, my last ssd only lasted about 2 years which i assume was because of the higher than average use. 5 year warranty with the pro's though, can't really go wrong and only cost a little bit more than the Evo's, well the 128 and 256gb ones do anyway.

I have personally always got the price difference back, the cs rep told me the policy was purchases within 7 days they will refund the difference but as it was over Christmas they gave me the difference on a kettle I bought 30 days earlier, so I can't fault Amazon for their service!
I now check price drops for anything I buy from Amazon now and recently got £10 back on a CPU I bought

Not always first time, sometimes you need to try twice

Any one can confirm if this will work with Macbook Pro 2009 13-inch, Mid 2009?

I installed Windows on my mac but it was so slow. May be changing hard disk will make it faster?

thanks

Like others have said here, definitely worth asking. Normally are quite good, I've done it before a couple days after a purchase.

And you sound like one of those annoying customers, who get the discount just to make them leave the store as soon as possible.

This makes much less of a difference for me than I expected compared to my previous 7200 hdd. Really badly optimized games are a bit better (e.g Sonic Generations). Programs start a bit faster but that is it.

I got my new ssd, got an enclosure for the hard drive that was in there first. I have to say I enjoy using my laptop much more now. Fast boot up/ shut down times, programs start up nearly instantly.

And torrents get checked in Utorrent in no time, had to wait ages with a hard drive.

I've got the samsung 840 evo 250gb drive' it's a very good drive.

Just the sheer amount of times you see people ask for help with Windows and some bright spark's 'helpful' response is "Get a Mac lol" (_;)

Not really. I've complained to Amazon just once because the price of an item had dropped before they'd even shipped it (which I think is fair enough). They lowered the price and gave me expidited delivery.

Don't ask don't get.

nice find

The Samsung 840 Evo 250GB is a much faster drive, I would go for that unless the extra £20 or so is too much for you.

I honestly don't believe you. You've never even tried, have you?
3 times I've purchased items from Amazon that dropped in price a few days later, and all 3 times they refunded me the difference (the most being £26). I didn't even have to push for them, each one was a simple polite email to them, and each time the first response was agreeing to refund me.

In real world use, pretty much no one will notice the difference in speed between the 2.

There was an option for it here. I'm not sure if they've removed it, or if it only shows up when the item you choose is lower in price than when you bought it - all the stuff I've ordered in the last month has gone up in price.

Will this work in a caddy and when xb1 has external usb support a good buy for it? or should I get a std 1tb one?

That depends on what you want. This will let stuff load a bit quicker, but you get 1/4 the storage space.

Thanks for that useful bit of information...

Does any body know what's the average write and read speeds for a 7200 rpm. I would like to know if it's worth the upgrade on my 5 year laptop.
