My 2 cents on the matter. Is this a good deal? Yes, probably the best priced SSD you'll see in this entire sale.

Is it better than a Samsung 850 Evo? No BUT... this is better value for money at this price. What most people don't say (? don't realise), in real world applications, there isn't a huge difference between mid tier SSD's and top tier ones. Benchmarks for SSD's show read and write stuff 90% of users don't even understand. They are both very fast and unless you are transferring large files, you will not see a real world difference.

I own an NVME SM961, Samsung 950 pro, samsung 850 pro, samsung 850 evo, OCZ 400, crucial 300 etc. Yes my NVME are fractionally quicker but not enough for me to care about.

SSD vs mechanical drives is a whole new kettle of fish, you WILL notice a significant difference from snappier response times to everything just loading that must faster. Again, for the price, this is one of the best deals this Black Friday so far.

For typical users performance isn't the issue with SSDs - it's size, easy to fill them up given how small they often are compared to a typical HD. On that basis this size, for this price, seems a good deal.

listen to this person people. don't get hung up on benchmarking either. I've got evo 850, sandisk ultra 2, mx300 and hyperx. real world feels pretty much the same performance, benchmarking is the only time I can see the difference.

I don't feel I would need much space. Anyone that knows more about this stuff know if I could make do with just this 750GB SSD on it's own? Would there be any significant draw backs? Cheers!

    Hi,
Once you go to SSD you won't go back to HDD unless it's just for storage of files.
    Depends on your usage really.

At the moment I have got 3 x 256 SSD and run out of space, most space took games (some high end games take 20GB-60GB), video editing... So bough this one, could not resist at this price point!

I built mine in August and went for 3tb hard drive and 250gb ssd. The ssd is really convenient for use with saving you time loading games, accessing files and just wish this deal was available when I was building mine. Could you potentially buy this and add a 2tb Hard drive down the line.

My only criticism is be careful on what you install on it as 750gb will run out quickly if you download every game within your steam library.

Great price, though I'm waiting for a good 2TB SSD deal ...might have to wait a year. (bought a 1TB 850 EVO last year for £185)

    Funny thing this..

I had feeling Amazon were going to sell the MX300 for this configuration/price and I've been holding off buying the 500 MB version all week on that basis.

BTW If you'd looked at the CCC graph earlier today it would have shown you that this was actually available at around the same price in March 2016 but now that the graph has been updated with todays price thats not now shown for some reason. It seems to have fallen off then end of the graph!?

I do love it when a plan comes together.

I got the 960GB Sandisk Ultra II last year for £142.99, so about 0.15p/GB, and it's been 'totes amazeballs' as a games drive. This is 0.14p/GB, which is kinda bargalicious and makes it a prime contender to replace my ageing 128GB Crucial m4 (by the way, £1.02/GB!!) - it's almost five years old, and a bit small by now. Stop making me want to buy stuff...

Ah the good old OCZ Agility 3, I bought the 120gb version in December 2011 for £130...a lot of people had issues with these drives but it has never let me down, I'm just running low on space now as I've moved Battlefield 1 across which is around 50GB!.

Looking forward to receiving the Crucial drive and having space to move other games across from my hybrid drive for that extra performance boost!
