Is this better than the Samsung QVO 2TB that was posted recently? This is £9 more..

This is top of the line Sata SSD. One of the best out there. Qvo 2tb should be sub £90 to be compared with mx500

It's been this price for quite a while already. Not sure what's hot here.

Can't you also get NVME drives at the same capacity for this price?

If your pc/laptop can support pcie nvme drives you would choose them everytime . Your only going to use a sata ssd drive on an older pc/laptop that either doesnt support nvme drives at all or youve used up all the nvme drive options on the machine already .

Speeds on sata ssds are around 500-600Mbs.....whilst nvme drives are up to 7500Mbs ish for certain activities.

You may get a 2Tb Generation 3 nvme drive for around the same price but the new faster Generation 4 nvme drives (as used in playstations etc) youll probably be nearer £180 for the 2Tb (edited)

Hey, I can be very patient and wait around 6 months. After a 2-4TB ssd for a good price, is this worth biting the bullet or wait longer?

Really good SATA drive. I've had mine for over a year and it's still going strong.
Stats come from Hard Disk Sentinel for anyone interested.
