Micron Quality — a Higher Level of Reliability.
Micron redefines what’s possible with innovative technology that shapes how we use data in all areas of life. Crucial’s unique integration with Micron means our memory and storage components are designed, tested, and refined at every stage of the production process.

  • Typical I/O performance numbers as measured using IOMeter with a queue depth of 32 and write cache enabled. Fresh out-of-the-box (FOB) state is assumed. For performance measurement purposes, the SSD may be restored to FOB state using the secure erase command. System variations will affect measured results.
  • Some of the storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage. 1GB equals 1 billion bytes. Not all capacities available at initial launch.
  • Active average power use comparison based on published specs of the 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD and the 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EZEX internal hard drive. All other capacities of the Crucial MX500 SSD have comparable active average power consumption specs.

Heat. Just waiting for Portable SSD's to get down to this price level

Remember when I bought it for around 3x. Good times. Maybe if I burn a bunch of these for heat instead of putting on the heater I'll make my money back.

I've got two of them in an HP 2570p EliteBook, and it's just perfect - one SSD for the OS, and the second for hosting virtual machines (you can RAID 0/1 them, but I haven't tried yet). Tempted to buy a couple more for external fast data storage as well, or buy another 2nd HDD Caddy for switching out one of the internal SSDs.

Can I ask the advice of my learned HotUKDeals friends...

I have an HP Z620 that I bought last year and have dragged my heals replacing my old Dell Precision 690 due to time constraints.

I was going to slap in an Integral 240 SSD P drive but would it be an investment to install this instead as my main drive?

I have a plethora of HDD's for storage, and the ports to access them.

I'm hoping that putting this in my machine would help it for another five years of reliability.

    Any positive thoughts? (edited)
