Yes, I have 1 in a 2.5in caddy, works without any issue

Of course they can. Any SATA case will do, but for best results make sure they support UASP - that allows fancy stuff such as TRIM to work when in a caddy.

These are good, robust SSD so a good choice for this price.
Not as cheap as the BX500 offer but this is Crucial's "quality and performance" offering. If you're going to plump for a 1TB SATA drive, unless you are absolutely stuck for budget, this is what I would go for.
Has previously been £89 on Amazon UK and £86 on Amazon Germany.
Are the prices going back up? I bought a couple of those for £82ea

Wouldnt it be better to get the cheaper m.2 version , put that into a usb3 caddy ? smaller, cheaper and possibly 1 -2 % performance gains ?
