As for reviews:
Tom's Hardware review this, though they allege Crucial has swapped out the TLC flash with QLC, severely reducing performance, as of August 2021 tomshardware.com/uk/…ssd

Tom's Hardware linked to a newer review from August 2021: tomshardware.com/uk/…ade
Sadly, their summing-up is quite scathing:3932516-onyMm.jpgAmazon reviews, sorted by variant (some complaints about speed may be because of the swap over), here

I edited a bit with comparison prices and found this review, which is quite concerning. This has happened with a few SSDs in the past, I remember Kingston quietly shipped out a SATA SSD model which was much slower than the original generation, some years ago.

    Really? That's odd
Normally DRAMless and Cacheless drives make little difference in gaming performance and only when doing lots of writing or Random read / writes like as an OS drive do you see performance problems. (edited)

Although it's a good price, I think I'll steer clear from a performance stand point.@KingOfSpades can you link to the promo you're seeing (should be able to link from the 'Here's how')? Assuming it's account specific but usually tells you on the details page if you're eligible.

I think it’s account specific and states it available to those who have not made purchase in last 13 months.

May be worth trying if you have an old Amazon account ?

I don't think the drive is the issue there, gaming is mostly reads which here will be no difference with a cache.
