Downside of ordering from crucial, is the shipment isn't exactly carbon friendly, as my order of 2 p5 nvme drives over Christmas - new year period came from the Czech Republic, via a 24h stop over in France, rather from drop warehouse in the UK. (edited)

I just bought the 500GB version for £60, didn't think about needing a heatsink for it though, is that a requirement? I'm not gonna be using it for gaming or anything, just a bit of development work.

Always get a heatsink. The chips get hot and could potentially burn out.

This is a bit better than the SN750, this has DRAM cache, the WD does not.
Not a MASSIVE difference in performance, between 0.5-2 seconds difference in game loading times.
Both are durable TLC NAND.
If I was buying right now I'd get the Crucial.
The heatsink is an added bonus.

The WD SN850 is around the same as this P5 Plus in terms of performance. (edited)

I bought a similar offer quite some time ago for my ps5 and I wouldn't recommend the heatsink to anyone as it is a very thin piece of metal and it didn't give me enough confidence so I ended up returning the whole set because once it was glued to the memory there was no way to detached it without voiding the guarantee. On the other hand the memory gave me good results and speeds.
