Yep, if you have a free slot, this is what you need if you don't want to spend much more on rams. 8+16 what you will have (most likely)

This is what I did with my laptop. Not gaming but working and oh my GOD, browsers LOVE RAMS

Decent performance with 30-40 pages being open at the same time

Just double-checked mine, and it's actually 4+8GB
one size down, but the same way as the 16 would work with the 8GB. (edited)

I've got these recently - you can usually get around £75 or less for 2 x 16mb on Ebay - new or near new- if you shop around and in theory a lower CL (eg CL16/18 etc) than 22 is faster for the more fussy , but I expect for most general use no one will notice any difference.
