It's 189.99 on Amazon now lol
Still doesn't beat price per GB of the £90 Mx500 500gb a few weeks back, going to hold out for £160 to £170 for a 1tb ssd I think as I'm not in a rush Good price if you want it now though
This premium drive is competing price wise with much inferiror drives - this is the best value drive you can get for this size.
Aarrghhh! I always said under 200 was my breaking point. Now I'm going to be forced into buying it.
Nice to see the price of the bigger drives coming down. Heat added. :)
I already have both nvme slots populated with nvme drives so the only option is to add m2 sata. Unless I wanted to upgrade 2x nvme drives.
I beg to differ, you being contankerous we will leave it there ;)
i understood it perfectly, it's just you not thinking about your post and then backtracking when you got called out. ;)
Ive not said it does, I dont think you understand what i've written, Its a generalised statement not one thats aimed at anyone particular. You mean working in IT all this time has been a failing?
Yep! So even though it was cheap I have to spend an extra £150 for it to work as it should. That is £150 more than a good reconditioned business one. I usually buy refurbished business laptops which have always been great - both processing power and battery life. I thought Id' go with newish home user laptop this time. I'll be going back to my refurbished business laptops. They are much better value - much better made and much easier to upgrade.
I think it may be the MX100 but still, same thing
Considering the Crucial MX500 launched last December, I'm somewhat skeptical that you have had one for about 5 years... despite that, this is a good SSD.
Got the 1TB last week.
Got it for £112 about a month ago and it pretty much feels like my PC is no longer held back (I did have an 8 year old mechanical hdd though). Lag spikes/stutter in games? Haven't seen a single one :)
I can attest to quality of this item. I've had one for about 5 years now and it's still going strong. SO fast compared to an old HDD.
I've paid via pay pal in the past using my amex. Had an issue with gameseek and amex still sorted it. PayPal were useless and gameseek are a bunch of crooks. Got my money back.
Last time i ordered from Crucial it was with me in 2 day's , so tbh I'd rather save myself a fiver with free delivery.
for me it works out at £126.18 with next day delivery.. I got prime so its cheaper off amazon for me and i get it next day for no extra cost :P
Ok, I'll give that a go - tried it on my IE versions, they were hopeless as well. Update - Yes - that worked. I presume that something in my Firefox browser kept blocking the Crucial pages.
Using Chrome browser on PC I can buy via credit card as guest. Remember 5% cashback via Quidco
£5 off £50 Top up on Amazon + £6 Promotion for purchasing a £30 Gift voucher (you can send this to yourself by email), worth checking if eligible again. Happy to have used the £10 off on this, and possibly the VC £5 also. Great price.. thanks OP!
Thankyou for this !!
£10 off a £50 spend today using the code BIGTHANKS, so potentially £54.79. Plus, another potential £5 off, by clearing your cookies and going via Vouchercodes (search for Amazon on VC). (You need to register a Vouchercode account), potentially £49.79 with all discounts. (£6+£10+£5)
5years warranty- Hope I don't need to use it :D
very good price considering the intel 128gb stick I got free earlier this year was worth around £100 which I managed to sell for £80. I don't need one but heat given
Price is rising since may
Perfect for the many computers out there that have an M2 connector.
shata not pci-e
Thanks OP. Can anyone please recommend a caddy to go with these 7mm HDD?
Fitted one to my Toshiba laptop earlier this week. Was about to bin it as it was extremely slow even after a full factory reset. Since fitting the SSD drive it has been totally transformed. It boots up fully in about 10 seconds compared to about 2 mins previously. A full virus scan for example takes about 15 mins compared to over an hour with the previous standard hard drive. A bonus was that the 1 tb hard drive I took out is now been used as a spare external hard drive once fitted to a external hard drive enclosure.
I need to get a ssd just to help with boot times on my home pc- is this one at amazon better / worse? Not trying to undermine OPs work but clueless on current technology https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01IAGSD5O/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1514324180&sr=8-10π=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ssd+240gb
Trying to order this and I get some weird prices on the website. Need x2 price should be 65.99 ex vat but discount is not being applied at checkout. Bit disappointed.
Bought this and returning my standard crucial 240gb SSD I got from Amazon. Not used it yet but this just seems a better solution, more memory and goes directly into my X370 Mobo. Voted hot, thanks OP.
For this money you can buy a Samsung SM961 256GB NVME M.2 ssd which although smaller in capacity is MUCH faster..... I've bought two now. They work out of the box with Windows 10 drivers.
You would need a PCIe adapter and I very much doubt it would be a bootable drive in that system. So better off buying the 2.5 inch SATA version which is cheaper, doesn't require an adapter and is bootable.
Nope, you would have to get an PCI expansion slot if you want to use m.2.
Thanks. In this case it's already free. (popcorn)
Glad it helped someone :). I was starting to wonder if I am the only one who got this email. XD
Thanks very much Op. Got the email this morning so was all over it :) Pays to be patient! Sadly could only order 1 pen drive with the code and receive the 80% discount but definitely better than nothing :)
Nothing foul mouthed about what I said. I guess the truth is considered foul to some sponging and give nothing back folk like yourself. If a deal posted on here makes you or anyone else on here angry I suggest therapy is the only resolution for you. See that particular deal I posted a few comments further up ;) Personally I see no reason to crucify a guy who has posted to give someone a heads up on a voucher email that so many of us appreciate the heads up on when it's Argos or Ebay. This is the first time though that I've seen tears before bed time.
No i don't post deals because of nasty foul mouth people like you. This was never a deal because their was no code ! So it was a pointless waste of time deal. As stated by many others and even made some angry . (devil) (mad) (poo) (poo) (poo)
Here's a deal especially for you then, FREE first session anger management classes. Right up your alley https://mentalhealth.openpathcollective.org/anger-management/promotion/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlN2eyeTh1wIVbgDTCh2negJhEAAYASAAEgIoQvD_BwE
Started past Monday and ends today
Is this a flash sale? (lol) Been watching these on zon for the last two weeks .. they hover about the 114-118 (525) still wondering whether to buy soon or wait till new year sales ... If it gets into double figures I might jump ..
Freezing cold for me. Bought 525GB last year on Cyber Monday for £80.49 I reckon will be the same!! Worth waiting (excited)
Not sure what your on about! Not had issues with ebuyer at all!
waikit83 As much as I don't have issue with any one having preferred e-tailers, please tell us all what kind of (bad) image ebuyer have with many here
Yes Amazons got everyone by the .......
Finally someone not speculating and writing they own opinion, but showing facts.
Parallelly. Nice word :D
None of the commodities (gold, silver, sugar, wheat, rice Spinning hard drives) have doubled in price since last November when someone blagged it for £82 in Black Friday for a 750GB (mind). The pound was 1.22 $ in June of last year, and has since been strengthening. (today about 1.35$) . New demand apart, can you tell how much of the production has also been ramped up parallelly? Also the new entrants from China should have helped meet some of this demand? SO that logic also doesnt hold much water. It is pure profiteering and cartelisation. Micro Sd cards, Sd, and USb drives have all fallen in price (thay are also flash memories ie commodities, and also facing brexit winds) . So something stinks & needs investigation by the authorities. Definitely price fixing at work here.
Which makes this deal even colder...
Me too :3
Tried but not accepted.
Ordered one thanks, £1.44 after VAT. As they're individual codes I just changed the last letter and it was accepted. Might be worth a go for anyone else interested in getting one.
so sorry if it dont work for you guys I did get one for £1.41 it didn't say only one use, I could add if anyone as Crucial emails check them and follow links and use the code
would have thought you'd ebay it instead of returning...profit
Return not a problem. Still surprised the SSD on it's own wasn't much better than a Fusion setup. The grass is always greener etc...
It says they come with a 1 year warranty so i would assume you can return it like any other SSD they sell.
Wonder what the returns policy is on a formatted SSD? Thought there might be a noticeable increase in performance from a Fusion Drive with a 120GB Samsung EVO 840 and Western Digital Scorpio Black 320gb but really can't tell the difference. Don't get me wrong - write speeds are a LOT faster but real world experience/use isn't that noticeable...
Mine arrived this morning, although paypal payment is still pending and following their website my order is ready to be shipped :)
Ordered mine yesterday and got an email saying its been shipped via RM 1class. Great deal
To be honest, I can't see that I'd be searching for another code without intending to use it. That said, if for whatever reason I do end up with an unused, valid code I'll drop you a PM. :)
Matt if you find another code would you mind pm'ing me lol, I have tried every combination :)
Well that was quick, mine arrived this morning via RM 1st Class and I only opted for the free postage option. The drive seems to be working fine and is currently in the process of having ~500GB of stuff from its mechanical predecessor copied to it.
Still trying to guess a code :)
in 96 i had a 2mg matrox graphics card, top of the range then haha
Joking aside, I did upgrade my Atari ST to 4MB of ram!
You are so behind the times! There's a Commodore 64 now.
Good deal, but unfortunately none for my Commodore Vic 20. Could do with a new tape deck too.
What's the price diff? Expect most would say Evo. I think Samsung are being too clever... I'd rather have a simpler controller so I'm more likely to get Windows to run RAID properly... Having said that, as boot-drive, Evo prolly...
This or Samsung 750 EVO?
Voted hot, managed to get it for £53.88 via Flubit.
When comments backfire, No. 8294362 Getting hotter all the time ... :p
:( I get 'Error:CMN3101E The system is unavailable due to "Promotion code "UKR8Z2T0" is invalid.".'
OR!!! buy a superior SSD for much less money, and buy as many 32Gb USB sticks as you like with the money you've saved!
If you go to the main Crucial UK homepage, there's a link at the bottom mentioning the price discount - unfortunately I'm logged on via a mate's laptop (he bought today via the BF deals) and it's playing up! X)
Link doesn't work, brought me to a 404.
