CTEKs are overwhelmingly positively reviewed chargers, I fancied one of these for a while as my car battery is getting close to discharged during colder days on winter when I have only short trips in the town.

  • Simple to connect and easy to use: fully automatic, spark free, reverse polarity protected
  • Tough and reliable: Designed for outdoor use at any temperature; Developed and tested in Sweden
  • Flexible: compatible with many different types of vehicle batteries
  • Effective: restores battery life and reconditions flat batteries
  • Maintains: ideal for carefree long-term maintenance charging

Thanks. I'm torn between this and the MXS 3.8. I have a motorcycle this will be left on all the time.. But car is also useful..
That looks very similar to the ones available every so often at Lidl / Aldi for £15

Yeah me too, I have checked the functions for the 3.8 and I was about to buy it when I saw the lightning deal for the 5.0
These trickle chargers pay for themselves. I used to get through so many batteries with the motorbike until I bought an Optimate 6.
These are the best charges. Porsche rebrand these and sell at £100+

The thing is the 3.8 seems more geared towards motorcycles.. hmmm!

If I rebrand it and sell it for £200 does it make it even better?
I have one of these for a few years (5+?).
It does a good job reviving old batteries but if voltage goes too far it doesn't trigger the charger. You will still need a dumb charger to juice it initially first if you completely flatten the battery...
