The Rolls Royce of battery chargers - expensive, but nothing else can touch it.

Lowest ever price on Amazon by some margin - see next post below.

The MXS 7.0 is the perfect universal 12V charger. It is ideal for charging larger batteries such as caravan, RV, boat and car batteries. These types of vehicles often demand features that can solve a broad range of battery-related problems. The MXS 7.0 offers features such as battery diagnosis that shows if a battery can receive and retain a charge, a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries, unique maintenance charging, a mode for optimised charging during cold winter days and the charging of demanding AGM batteries (i.e. Optima). It also has a power supply mode which allows the battery to be disconnected from the vehicle without losing important configurations.

The MXS 7.0 is a fully automatic 8-step charger that delivers 7A to 12V batteries from 14–150Ah and is suitable for maintenance charging up to 225Ah. The charger is IP 65 classified (splash and dust proof), designed to protect vehicle electronics and non-sparking, reverse polarity protected and short-circuit proof. These are brilliant battery chargers, I have the older & less functional MXS-5. Thoroughly recommended.

The 3.8 seems a good deal also....
Great price. Hot.... Happy with my £13 Aldi ultimate speed jobby for now which has performed well on our two car batteries and loaned out to friends so not sure if I can justify the upgrade but would really like to diagnose battery condition. Argh just noticed power supply mode too! Really tempting.....

Why would you need one of these on a normal car? I can see the ability to revive batteries to a certain degree, but most people who change their battery every 4 or 5 years generally have few problems. Not a criticism, I'm wondering what the appeal is for such an expensive charger over my microprocessor controller charger I got from Aldi a couple of years back - or anyone who gives their battery a charger once or twice over winter. The only thing that caught my eye was it does expensive stop start batteries too, but again they should last 4 to 5 years.

Fair point. For me it's the ability these allow you (unlike most others) to connect to the car without disconnecting the battery terminals and therefore potentially requiring a garage reset of radio etc.. Also the ability to leave connected for as long as you want without risk to the battery, the car - or the garage! Really useful in the winter particularly when batteries are most at risk of going flat. Never an issue with one of these.
C'mon, this is a deals site where you buy things you didn't really need in your life and 'save money' spending money you had no intention of spending! You're not convincing me...

Well...there is that as well, of course.
I had one of these and was very happy with it. Trouble I had was some nice person broke into my boot and stole it !!! To add insult to injury they stole the battery from the boot too (Audi A8) so it was rather like candid camera when I tried to start the car !!!

This was on a lightning deal on Amazon today which I missed. Anyone know what price it was then ?

Don't think it was on a Lightning Deal today - but this is the lowest price it's ever been.

I've got a (rebadged) one of these.

Decent enough charger.

If I was buying, I'd go for a B6AC or similar 'hobby charger' - not as simple to use and you'll need bigger clips, but gives you data, charges all sorts of batteries and so on as well as being a fair bit cheaper.
Nah, cold....... £64 via flubit

Anything to do with Flubit's a nightmare. Slightly cheaper, maybe, but not necessarily what you actually ordered and pretty much no comeback when things go wrong. Also long delays (though they take your money immediately). Never, ever again.
Never had a bad experience with them, in fact they've let me keep things and refunded at the same time.
Flubit all day and £5 cheaper for the same item, do the maffs

Me too. For cars this mxs 7 is unnecessary. Just once the mxs 5 was unable to revive my battery when more professional gear at a battery store worked ( I still don't know exactly what they did).
Usually the 'technique' for recovering a battery is stick a chunk jump starter on it for a bit to give it a boost up, then attach a smart charger like one of these to keep it going.
Why wouldn't you just buy a portable one? which you don't need to plug in

I bought it via lightning deal yesterday for £87.50 and now it is 70? Will amazon refund the difference?
Overpriced.
A car needs just a few components to charge its battery.

If those are the only reasons you want it you'll find plenty of much cheaper trickle chargers will do the same.

Almost certainly, yes, and without any fuss. Just contact them by chat, phone or email.

Not remotely as well, or as safely, as these do. Check out the reviews. Which ones did you have in mind, though?

I had it all wrong, in the lightning deal, the price was £74.80. Amazon CS have given me a refund of £4.80. All good.

I have a lesser CTEK and a Lidl one. No where near as sophisticated as this but they can trickle charge without disconnecting battery, revive a dying battery, etc. Even £70 is a massive amount of money for a trickle charger if you're not going to need those extra facilities. Not knocking the deal, just wonder who really needs one.
