Besides, 4000mAh big capacity battery affords you long time experience.

I've had two Cubot phones. Both with a delayed malware payload that kicked in about three weeks after phone activation. On both devices this happened, with slightly different results.
No anti malware apps could find anything, but ads were popping up everywhere and programs being downloaded at random.

I managed to find a custom Rom that could be installed without rooting (Rooting wasn't possible at the time for these models) and also found that a free firewall app was very useful in narrowing down what was causing the problems.

Both phones are fine now, and brilliant quality and value, but beware the delayed malware. Makes it look like you installed something dodgy so the supplier can easily say there was no malware until you installed apps...

The Cubot website forum has a custom Rom cleared by Google for any models that had the malware problem.

Why do people bother with this cheap Chinese sheeite, save up more $$ and …Why do people bother with this cheap Chinese sheeite, save up more $$ and get a decent phone from a recognised manufacturer

Oh yeah cant wait to pay £800 + for an apple iPhone or galaxy 9. Lucky you (Or mad you!) if you want to spend on a 'recognised' manufacturer. We have 3 cheap Chinese " sheeite" phones in our household Huawei, Xiaomi and Oukitel and all are brilliant for the money. All 3 cost less than £400 combined!!

If you're considering buying this try to find some hands-on YouTube videos where you'll see the actual bezel size, and not the fake thin bezels on these renders

Cubot make some decent phones, had a cubot dinosaur which was a great phone for £80.

Definitely a good idea to root cubot phone though, as they come with some stuff pre-installed that I don't recognize so removed them to be safe.

Damn those are some thiccc side bezels on a "bezel-less" phone.

Some good renders by cubot to remove them
Tiptop spot!

Seemed to sell well when I posted the 3gb / 32gb version, so for a few quid more, you get 4gb & 64gb, price has gone up but you can still get the 3/32 from a european warehouse if you want one ((blue only)) quicker.

Yours is the previous model this deal is for the X18 PLUS
Is this an upgrade from a Redmi Note 4? I'm tempted to take a punt on this or do I wait for the Redmi 5 Pro....
I've got this, and for under a ton it's not bad... Just don't expect it to be like a certain phone recently announced.
Battery is absolute garbage especially for a handset "claiming" to do what this one does
Voted cold because it's gearbest but would have been warm for the phone specs
Just saying, Cubot have been known to ship malware with their phones.
1% Quidco for existing customers, 3% for new customers. Is this compatible with UK 4G bands?

Yupp seems to be common with Chinese smartphones.

That's how they offer their phones at these prices. Malware peddlers pay these manufacturers so the price can be subsidised. If you're tech savvy, it's a 10 min job to slap your own malware-free ROM and enjoy your phone without fear.
anyone got a link for the google verified rom and what's the delivery time for these likely to be thanks
Bought normal x18 for daughter. Nice display but has bezels. Runs fine, fingerprint reader works well. Battery life so so
As usual they Photoshop smaller bezels on the marketing pics. Bit of a con.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Just seen the phone on YouTube and it doesn't look anything remotely like the picture! The bezels are a lot bigger!

Yeah, why bother with decent food when you have Tesco Value mince, and don't get me started on those overpriced cars when Tata Motors makes a perfectly driveable vehicle, front windows even have manual winders, only sheep would pay extra for an Audi.

I get your point. It depends on what people prioritise more I suppose. My Xiaomi phone is fine for MY needs at the moment, but yes a Samsung or iPhone will take better photos and be better suited for some consumers. For some people "cheap Chinese sheeite' will suffice with regards to a mobile phone. With the money they save maybe such people can justify a better car, a holiday, meals out etc.

So far it looks like it's a malware-ridden mediocre phone with poor battery life and false advertising with rendered images looking nothing like the actual product, and I'd take a wild guess that their customer service and warranty support are equally poor.

I agree I won't be ordering this. But I've had no issues with my Xiamoi and will be getting the Redmi 5 Pro when that's released in the next few months.

Xiaomi are quite decent, provide customer service in the UK, are proven to work well and cost about the same as this thing. Or pay £30 extra for a Motorola G4, whoever buys this clearly doesn't care about the specs and would be better off with a branded handset for an equivalent of a meal for two more..

Because at the moment phones are highway robbery. They deliberately don't let you put memory in it or allow you to change the battery so that they are obsolete in a year or twos time. Or stop making the battery once it's not a flagship phone. Then bump price up year after year and the problem will get worse cos at the moment there is always someone willing to hand over the cash like lemmings. With the stupid notion "the more it costs the more value it is" if you know the market and do your research and known the risks Chinese phones are fine.

The Bezels are still quite thin, nearly close to my iPhone 7.
Some of these Android phones are very value for money.
I have been sent the x18 to review and it was good for price point i thought. But finger print sensor does keep forgetting your finger. I am getting an x18 plus sent to me so I can reply again once i have one if helps people sat on fence.
Back of this looks like a aftershave bottle lol.

Hopefully malware-free. Malware can enter the phone at many different stages: it can be part of the SOC, it can be in the Android image for the SOC, or backed into the image by the manufacturer or their supplier, or by the retailer. The earlier it gets into the phone, the harder it is to remove. And if you removed the malware from the retailer, that does not mean that there is no other malware somewhere. (Although Google does a reasonable job at looking for malware.)
Yes bezels are a lot bigger.33388635-GbWkF.jpg
Terrific spec. Reviews say camera is not great but none are at this price
