Done this trip a couple of years ago, would highly recommend as we had an amazing time onboard.

We did only pay £550 but heat added as still great value!

Sounds amazing. Maybe one day for me but thought it may help someone else.

lmao!

Great find op Now to sort out if I can make thise dates

Someday, someday. Entering New York harbour by cruise liner is one of my life dreams!

this is awesome but I'd need a return cruise as my partner can't fly for medical reasons for a year....could be waiting a year for the return deal!

I did a transatlantic cruise in 2013 and the sea was as smooth as glass on the crossing. It might be a little chillier than the Med but is a fabulous experience.

This is a proper cruise liner, purpose built for trans-ocean journeys unlike Carnival, Costa cruise ships et al. Atlantic in summer should be fine.

Tempting, arriving at New York would be very cool.

All meals and snacks onboard ??
- that's a relief as I don't think papa john's would deliver that far

Amazing price!
I've done this crossing in August and it was wonderful.
I then did it in October which was an absolute nightmare and I've not gone on a cruise since.
This is a great deal though

So, when onboard does all beer and food come free or do you pay? If so what price ranges are we thinking of?
I'm partial to the odd gallon of carlings finest after breakfast.

I think you pay for alcohol however can bring some with you. There is an Irish pub on board, I guess the food you order within the pub would be free.

You pay for your drinks and it's not cheap plus there's an extra 15% compulsory tax/service charge on all alcohol. Unlike other cruise lines Cunard allow you to bring a couple of bottles of your favourite spirit with you but probably not crates of beer. I did a cruise a couple of years back on this ship and it is a fabulous experience but not cheap. There's also an overall £8.00 per day service charge on your bill and if you loftily take that off the staff are penalised as it's seen as a reflection on their work record particularly your personal cabin steward etc. With a pre dinner cocktail or two and a few glasses of wine you should expect a final bill of about £220 ish per head. This is proper fine first class cruising not like a lot of the huge all inclusive floating holiday camps which are on offer from other lines.

Wouldn't mind this!

No, its a gentle cruise across the Atlantic. Seriously the QM2 is an amazing ship and you hardly feel a thing. I've been on it across the bay of Biscay which is very choppy waters and it still glided across like a dream.

Alcohol is about the only thing you pay for in terms of food and drink.

Good deal, I've done a few Caribbean and one from New York going to southern Caribbean but I've always fancied the transatlantic crossing, maybe this is the one, tho the price for the return trip is great value too

This is a 5 star ship so be prepared to add gratuities..

no such thing as a gentle cruise on the med, done both cruises and the transatlantic nov crossing was smoother than a oct med cruise lol

can you not come back in 3 or 4 days after arriving ?

Booked, just waiting for confirmation from Adorecruises.uk. Was looking at crossing to NY for £599 Inside Cabin, but this is a fantastic price at £799 return. Only problem is its just a day visit to NY, not even an overnight. This works at 16 days for £799 = £50 per person per night. The food alone would cost this! Any cunard trip at £50/person per night is a bargain.

We've done a couple or Caribbean cruise, see a different island every day for a week l, loved it but 7 days at Sea and then fly home the following day!!

Dud you read the small print? You have to take the person that posted the deal.

good deal but i am not sure 8 days of looking at a sea in a big tin can is not my idea of fun. then £75 ish a day is cheap as you could easily pay more than that for a cheapish hotel

£4ish a pint on their other two ships if that helps.

A good price but the QM2 is quite run down these days. Was due for a refurb this year but that's been postponed. Carpets are worn, furniture is knackered and cabins are tired but the quality of the food and most of the staff are still great. Daily gratuities are expensive but most of the staff deserve them.

Fair point. I have updated for you.

I'd like to know that too. Have a great cruise, book into your hotel for 3 nights, explore NY, fly home 4 nights later..... Would be fab.

Spend 8 days getting there, quick nosey around in the back of a yellow cab, and a mad rush for the airport to catch your midnight flight.....not so much

Indeed seems a waste of time to me for 1 day , if they can sell just the cruise minus the flight would be best deal , I have been to NY 12 years ago but would be nice to go again

We found the opposite - ship was lovely and well maintained - didn't see worn carpets etc - but the food was not great (nice enough though Todd's was a disappointment considering it's extra ) and some of the staff were arrogant (most were great).

What a great way to spend a week though? Reading, cinema, reflecting, eating, drinking....
