May I ask did he book with the cruise line directly? Or with travel agent? £50ish a night on a cruise just seems to good to be true! I am very interested to hear more details! Thanks

Cunard is what I would call a more traditional cruise experience ... everything just that little more upmarket. Nothing wrong with P&O and probably better for younger travellers

If you take the organised tour with the cruise company you don't need a visa

You are right, you are looking at £200 plus for a two day tour depending who you book with. I was in St Petersburg at the end of May as part of a cruise and you have to do this. There is no way you could do this by yourself and trying to get around all the places of interest in the time that you have there.

Cunard Cruising aboard Queen Victoria - Caribbean Highlights - 24 nights 19 November to 13 December 2018 from £1999 all-in

Sail roundtrip from Southampton over 24 nights on a Caribbean getaway. Spanning the Atlantic via lush Madeira, you'll visit Dutch St Maarten, beach-laden Antigua, French-speaking M… Read more

I just meant all-in isn't all in as some peeps might assume it includes it is all. I tend to tip the staff that have provided decent service anywhere really, so will make a note it's not like that in most cruise ships and give them a chance.

I was tempted to pull the trigger on this, but then my other half said "just imagine the smell of pee onboard" was hard to argue, indeed I asked my local butcher "do you keep dripping", he replied "No sir,not since Ihad it fixed"...I see my uroligist next Pissday.

No pressure to pay tips if you don’t want. Cunard is a whole different ball game than the tales I’ve heard of ‘here-we-go’ all inclusive cruise ships. Cunard every time for me, thanks ... and I’m in an inside cabin for a full 28 days (14+ at sea) in sept/Oct. can’t wait.

We do bring 4 litres onboard when cruising with P&O keeps the bar bill down . Don’t drink at home and probably only ever over indulge drinking when we are on holidays . We love cruising but enjoy a true real 5 star all inclusive resort .

Speaking from pressure to pay the tip if you don't wish to.

Is there a run on Cunard Cruises at the minute ?. This and the 24 night December cruise are ok pricewise. Food will be fantastic, some nice ports of call and I would imagine the Queen Elisabeth is stunning.. Still way overpriced for me though. A 12 night cruise to the Canaries in December with P&O for just £712 is far more reasonable. Their drinks prices are similar to pub prices and you can take onboard a bottle of spirits or wine per person. Just did a cruise on the Queen Mary 2 and everything was on the pricey side (didnt dare have an alcoholic drink). Shopping Mall certainly comes to mind plus the awful gaming machines in the casino. A bit overdone on Cunard I think. I still think that cruises are fantastic stress free holidays (Ive been all over the world by plane, train and coach and all I can remember is the stresssssssss). Virtually zero stress on a cruise and fantastic for kids . I was also really pleased to see how geared up ships are for disabled passengers of any age or disability.

19 nights on a floating shopping mall with high speed controlled "trips" ashore. No thanks. Butlins for posers.

Food, yes, alcohol, no.

All inclusive?

im sure theres plenty of crack houses down by the docks to visit.

Fort Lauderdale -> Southampton 16th April on the Queen Victoria £499 (£999 with flights) at Cunard

I'd rather explore different sights and cultures rather than just do things i can do at home but if everyone was the same then the world would be a boring place :)

We took a transatlantic cruise in January this year. I'd never cruised before. Met a chap at breakfast one day who made the comment that "only a boring person would find a cruise boring". 12 days at sea? Depends on the individual I guess, but there's plenty to keep occupied. Gym, shows, talks, pools, activity groups - easy to be bored if you let yourself be bored. Plenty to keep entertained otherwise.

Double the cruise cost for a single person. You can get cheaper flights from Norweigian if you are prepared to travel to Oslo or Copenhagen first for a one way flight to Fort Lauderdale. Probably come out as £300 per flight.

Peace, quiet and fresh air in a smart floating hotel with food and drink laid on - a nice way to get away from it all, and, if you have the time, a far more civilised way to travel than post 9/11 economy class in the air, with no sunburnt sangria louts in sight!

12 days at seas seems a bit dull. I can understand cruises that take in cities and/or islands but can't really see the appeal in this.

Not my idea of a cruise,Denmark in Mid winter.

I can't find this Cunard-direct cruise listed elsewhere. I did find a post for the cruise via Iglu but this is direct with Cunard (which is always better in my opinion) and I've also listed the other offer for the Moroccan cruise which is a great deal.

I checked the site several times before i posted my comments re apparent differences in costs,But i was in Turkey and only got the $999 price etc,However when I use a proxy server to appear to be in the UK I got the deal price of £399 and hence offer an apology for my original the way there are some other amazing getaway fares on offer as well ie SanFransico to Sothampton 27 days via Panama Canal £1600 inside stateroom( April-May) will need to get a cheap flight to Frisco

Flight, transfer and tax is included. It's on the main page when you click the link in big letters. Are some people just too lazy or ignorant to even bother checking before posting?

I knew it cannot be true as my in-laws used to use Cunard and they were very careful with their money. They said that if it cost £100 per night, they were on to a bargain. This was 10 years ago!!

Let us know how it went!

Thanks all , I think I will give it a miss, would love to cruise but it seems people just want to show off on the ball nights. I don't think they will be my kind of people. And I thought the ship had stabilisers or so I was told by Cunard and my tummy isn't that good on water, told I wouldn't notice lol. Maybe try a 3 day cruise somewhere first me thinks Pete

yes lots of good deals at the moment just posted this 1 because it was the one I was looking at for my nan. I doubt many people are to bothered about them being non flexible if they are sailing soon. Just good travel insurance will pay out on certain circumstances anyway if something did happen. :) x

The next cruise is also £599 17th Nov - 12 nights - Iberia and Morocco The following one is £499 29th Nov - 12 nights - Med discovery. Seems to be standard price when they get close to sailing - its a non flexible fare as well/

Still available at £285 12 Oct (NY-UK) 19 Oct (UK-NY) 1 Nov (NY-UK) so add a 7n stay between the 2 7n QM2 newengland 7 cruise might be available through the US. Edit: looks like Cunard have droped these from the site now, might be available with a phone call.

Looks like the offer/misprice is over. Make sure you change to no air to get a cruise only price and they still have an offer on the Britannia Balcony stateroms Fare per person starting from: £569.00, half the price of an inside cabin. No more £284 though as far as I can see.

I can't get this price, it comes out over £1000

fly back the 27th one way is $380 with 1800flyeurope with the TA cruise and the 11n caribbean this is not a bad package if you can put it together. US TAs normaly act as agents so the cruise line takes the money not the TA. It will be in final payment anyway so they would have to pay up quick. Unlikely Cunard will go bust, there is a one way flight with BA for $380ish so that fairly safe if they atualy fly the plane.

No, that's perfect. Book a return flight from UK to New York. Fly to New York in time for 1st November, take boat back for 7 days on choppy seas with no places to visit. Get back on boat the next day with everyone who will be going on the real cruise in the Caribean. 6 more days on choppy waters in storms with no places to visit and then get your return flight from New York. The good thing is all meals included! Should set you back only around a grand for a 2 week holiday.
