I see what you did there
I bought the Harvest Brown colour last year and it looks a natural colour. An important tip here is that if you have a power washer then power wash the fence first to remove green algae and old loose coatings then allow a couple of days of warm sunshine to dry it out then coat the fence or shed. Lighter colours over dark original colours may need two or 3 coats.

Thanks for the tip. Sounds obvious but likely won't think about this til the day I decide to paint, then get fustrated I didn't think of this earlier, and paint anyway
I'd like to use this (black) paint on my front fence which is rough wood. I've also got a small picket gate and a side gate which are smooth wood - am I right in thinking that this paint won't 'stick'/coat this type of wood, if so, can anybody recommend a brand of garden paint that would match up to this black one and cover the wood well? Thank you.
The blurb in the Apply section belows says use on rough sawn timber . I have used it on Fences gates and sheds but i dont use it on HARDWOOD benches like Jack and Jill chairs.

This will cover it, I’ve just used this on rough sawn fence panels that had already been treated with creosote several times and also smooth wood ( shed )

This covered it well, just remember to put plenty on with a thick brush and you’ll be right.

Doesn't keep.. Really good paint does what it says but don't expect to keep half a tin for next year. I took some out of the shed maybe 9 months old and was basically water, trust me I stirred and stirred still water..

The fence I did coat water really does just bead off. Smooth wood is no good it does stick but it's very thin.
I like the autumn gold colour but after reading reviews 1 or 2 state that the colour is very orange. Can anyone confirm?

Oh yes very orange which I like, much brighter than the neighbours dull colours.

It tends to last longer on rough wood. My shed is smooth and normally needs doing more often.

I recommended this to a friend and she had some issues with it wearing off on older fence panels. I guess you've just got to try it and see.
