Museum guide Ted (Will Ferrell, ELF) travels to Africa in an attempt to obtain a huge ancient ruin that could save his struggling museum, which the owner's son (David Cross, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) wants to turn into a more profitable parking lot. Instead, Ted brings back an adorable, mischievous, childlike monkey who inadvertently causes all kinds of trouble for him. Resisting the temptations that so many kids' movies have succumbed to, CURIOUS GEORGE stays true to the innocently playful spirit of the beloved, brilliantly simple children's books by H.A. Rey, eschewing ironic asides, gross-out comedy, and pop culture references. Barely acknowledging the parents and guardians in the audience, the filmmakers talk directly--and effectively--to their target viewers: young children. Much like the tone and story it complements, the bright and colourful animation is distinctly old-fashioned, paying tribute to the books, appealing to kids, and adding to the movie's retro charms. With the talented voice acting (which also includes Dick Van Dyke, Joan Plowright, and Drew Barrymore as Ted's sweet schoolteacher love interest), the appropriately fun and laid-back music by Jack Johnson, the irresistibly likable character of George himself, and the wisely uncluttered plot, first-time feature director Matthew O'Callaghan achieves the rare feat of successfully and respectfully adapting one of the most popular children's books of all time.

Then the same bargain to be had at two places. That's great news if one of them runs out of stock.

So using that logic, we're all gonna post multiple retailer deals now, all for the same price instead of finding the cheapest? Carry on.....

Sorry, have I done something to offend you? Have we ever met?

It retails for up to £19.99, HMV are selling it for £2.99...so it's a bargain. End of.

The fact that Play are selling it at the same price also makes the Play deal a good deal...it doesn't make the HMV one a bad deal. Or, using your logic, neither this deal or the Play deal should be posted just because it's £17 cheaper than the RRP on both websites. So, people could be paying well over the £2.99 price if we used that logic as we wouldn't see the deals. Plus, I can walk into my local HMV, I can't remember the last time I saw a Play.com shop

Is that ding ding...end of round one? :-)

I thought it was a bargain at £2.99...hence the post.

Ta!!

Actually if we're being pedantic, Quidco pays 9% for HMV, whereas its only 4% for Play.com. That's a massive £0.15 difference! :-D

That said, not sure whether the HMV online price is the same instore: in my experience they are entirely separate entities.

Thank you for the post AndyWedge. Some of us on here are grateful for bargains, especially as I didn't see the post about Play.com before so this is a brand new deal to me.

Yawn.

Lovely film. I've also seen some cuddly George's going cheap in Home Bargains & Instore recently that could go nicely with the DVD.

thanks, ordered one!

So what if it was posted previously - I never saw the previous offer, so now I've gained from this one!
