These are current generation refurbs which were not available a week ago, posted to highlight that.

how much do these usually cost?

Can't understand why anyone would buy this when you can get the superior Sansa Clip+, brand new, for half this price.

Haven't voted either way though

When you actually use one of these, I believe you will understand why they cost a bit more. At the end of the day, it's all down to personal preference so lets not get into the usual arguments.

Excellent price.

Oh the SanDisk Sansa looks good. I may get one of these now. Anyone got any opnions on them? Battery life? Compatability with Mac's etc?

The 16 gb one is usually 138 quid from Apple shop, and about a tenner cheaper from Amazon.

The Sansa is OK if you have no one around you and theres no noise around you, otherwise its hard to hear the music! Train, city centre etc I can hardly hear it

You waited 40 minutes for someone to reply to you, instead of taking 40 seconds to google it yourself. oO

I bought a new one for the missus for £106. I'd of been tempted to get one of these if they were £60 or under.

you should invest in some decent low-impedance headphones. if a pair of px100's doesn't blow the top of your head off at max vol on the sansa then you are some form of alien hybrid, or deaf

I've used one and didn't like it, mainly due to the propriety stuff apple tries to force you to use, the sound quality, and the cost relative to every other MP3 player on the market
But, fair enough point on the usual arguments, was just trying to let others know there's better/comparable options out that are much cheaper, etc.

They're really good, packaging states a 15 hour battery life from fully charged.
Based on this review of the slightly older model it sounds like it's a simple "drag/drop between folders" interface on mac, just like it is with windows, without the need for any additional software.

If you change the region settings to "Rest of the world", you can have the volume much louder.
The reason the volume is limited when set to the "European" region is because of EU health and safety laws designed to prevent you from going deaf/developing tinnitus.

Good deal..these can be used with the Nike+ trainers and adaptor for running, others can't?

I'm guessing you've updated the firmware, which enforces the EU sound levelling if you select Europe.

If you reflash the firmware and select "Rest of world" as your locale, then the option to make it louder appears in the settings menu again and you can get higher volumes.

Not promoting my thread but they did have the current generation in stock at the time of posting the deal last time. There was no reason for me to post a deal for the current as well as the older generation.
BEsides, the link is for the current gen anyway!!!

I recommend SanDisk Sansa Fuze as an alternative to iPods.
Here you can get a new 8gb Sansa Fuze for £60 delivered.
Its memory can be upgraded via the microSD/SDHC expansion slot, mine has an extra 8gb in totaling 16gb. Plus the sound quality is better than that of the iPod.

These have been available for weeks now. They had 2nd gen Shuffles too, but they went quickly.

Im sure the UI and camera are worth the extra money!

There are also a range of refurb 16GB Nanos available - £99 for previous generation or £115 for current generation.

Agreed, the headphones aren't the best, I always buy my own regardless.
Apple products are indeed extremely over priced, and very restrictive also.
