Current SkyTalk and Broadband deal for Existing Customers £10/month

Found 16th Jan 2013
Called to cancel my Sky Talk and Unlimited Broadband. Explained that I couldn't afford it and was going to move to Talk Talk who offer a £9.50 prepay phone rate and a half price broadband deal for 9 months (£3.50).

They countered me a retention deal of £10/month which includes Line Rental, evening and w/end calls and unlimited broadband.I got the deal without a fight, the offer is standard deal currently on their retention system.
My tip is stick to your guns that you simply can't afford the current cost.you'd love to stay with them but have to find a way to save money.Oh and yes be nice and pleasant and make sure you are speaking to the Scottish Call Centre where they have the authority to act.

Can't promise you will get it but worth a shot!

You can call Sky free on your Sky talk phone by dialling 150

Number to call
I know if I call and ask to be disconnected, they won't be trying to keep me. I'm guessing you have spent lots of money on calls, hence their eagerness to keep you. Hence I'll vote cold on this one,

No I hold back till after 7 to call free.

Respectfully I'd suggest not giving up before you even try?

There's £80 Quidco cashback at the moment for new customers taking phone&broadband
Few months back when i told them i wanted to move to talk-talk, I managed to get free line rental and broadband for a whole year from sky. I just upgraded to HD box.
Am i right that if you move to another supplier you can't keep your number?
can't sky just call your bluff and say that if you do that you will have to change your number which is a right hassle

You can port your number no problem to or from .Sky is obligated by OFCOM to offer porting in and out.
retentions deals aren't universal and are usually customer specific, so cold from me

More defeatism.

Only to / from other providers with which it holds reciprocal porting agreements, although realistically I believe this is all the major players but worth mentioning just in case.
i do this sort of stuff with SKY all the time.

I have not paid for line rental on my phone since 2010. Everytime the current "free line rental deal" ends i call up to cancel my whole package as its too expensive(phone, broadband, and tv), unless they can reduce the price.

And everytime there is 6 or 9 month free line rental deal they can offer me.

they are a bunch of robbing barstewards so i get a little satisfaction at saving a tenner lol
Thanks OP!! Best Sky customer service experience ever, got straight through to the relevant department and offered the offer you described immediately - saving me £12 a month for 9 months! Cheers!
Some questions for the OP:
1) how long is this deal for? 9 months? 12? Forever?
2) Does it involve a contract?
3) Do you have Sky TV too?
Why are people voting this cold?? I don't understand? If you have the telephone line and unlimited broadband and are paying full price you stand to save £108! What's not to like?

because retentions deals are usually account specific and not guaranteed for everyone

1 - 9 months
2 no
3 I do but they were quite clear that my discount deal (another story) on tv is unrelated to this offer

As the expense of repeating myself I was told the offer is to all existing customers off initial contract. It pains me that so many members have given up before they even tried. The saving over the 9 month period is about £108, for one call that's an easy payback.I'll keep the deals to myself in future!

It seems inertia rules, even on HUKD
i got 2.50 off each month for the next 12 months you need tv for the better offers

A satisfied customer.,well done my friend I'm pleased for you.Guess what he did,he actually tried and succeeded, rather thinking up imagined reasons why he would fail.

Oh please!!

You really are scrapping the barrel, The first link is dated over a Year ago, the 2nd link a Sky CS is wondering why the number can`t be transferred by a specific customer...
Just got off the phone, couldn't get it below £16 per month, so I guess this is a per customer punt. I wish it was otherwise, but I guess the cold temperature is justified after all on retention deals around here :). Glad those who got it did though!
