Sultana's.. does that count as one of you 5 fruit and veg a day...LOL

Do you think this would go well mixed with babies food to warm the little one up :whistling:

I was only thinking last week when waiting for a fish supper* what a rip off curry sauce is considering its only a bit of curry powder and water.

*no pun intended

wouldn't like to be around at nappy change... lol

I don't like it. I got a few thinking I was saving money but I found it disgusting. Just pop into Home Bargains or B&M's and get a decent reduced jar. It wont be 8p but will taste much better. My kids will eat anything and wont eat this and they love chips, sausage and curry sauce.

Can't see ANY pun, intended or otherwise.

same price for sainsburys equivalent, expect its the same for asda and tesco aswell. they usually are

B&m's curry sauce is the business

Tesco own brand is 7p. Cheaper so every little helps. Though to be honest of the sauces I have tried I think the Tesco brand tastes best. Though we do add some Pataks curry paste and some curry powder to add some real kick. Work s a treat for an easy, cheap and tasty curry dinner.

All very depressing. Food is more than fuel created from ready made jars and packets. I used to do this as I was not confident about making a curry from scratch using herbs and spices. Then I took the plunge ,OK it takes a bit of time but the end result is brilliant.

Home made curry wont cost 8p

sultanas in curry.....yuck

Add salt, paprika and chilli powder. Stir.
6.
Add enough water, a little at a time, to get sauce consistency. Bring to boil and simmer briskly for a few minutes. Turn the heat off. This is the basic curry sauce like the âtake-away, shops and people generally buy it with chips/French fries, as a dipping sauce.
7.
You can also use it to make take-away style curries. When you are ready to cook a curry, like chicken, prawns, pork or boiled potatoes etc., heat 1 tbs. oil in a wok, stir-fry the chicken/prawns/meat/potatoes and add the curry paste. Continue to stir-fry for a few minutes. Add a little water, if you want more gravy.
8.
Serve hot, with rice or noodles.
Notes

give it a go. The only recipe I have found that makes a proper authentic taste. Its saved me a fortune lately!

Taken from "The Curry Secret" recipe book which is worth buying anyway as it tells you how to make all the curries using the above stock.

amazon.co.uk/Cur…8-3

BTW, do the above with all your kitchen doors shut and the windows open as the pong is unreal.
