First post so go easy folks.

Spotted this today at currys instore at Braehead store outside Glasgow.

Thought it was a bargain price for a 77" Oled comes with 5yr warranty.

Ex display may put folk off but no sign of screen burn on this unit. I have a 65 c8 and it's a remarkable TV .

But you cannot watch BBC or ITV at the cinema.
Think of the cost of travel, food, drinks and its dark in the cinema. You cannot mutli-task!

don't forget the travel costs. For me 3 times a week at £3 per return trip comes to £4680 for 10 years. Add that to the £3000 makes is £7680. Makes this deal hot! Shame there's only one available

Does this TV then come with lifetime latest movies for 10 years in your mathematical calculation plus add in the 10 years of power to use it and 10 years of paying for a TV licence

counting in inflation of the current cost of an annual bus pass, £20K would get you a 20 year bus pass.

Problem is, staff of cinema is not that keen on hooking up your PS/Xbox to big screen and won’t let you sit there playing games for hours no end and try to convince them you still have to watch all series of game of thrones!:)

I would go with this DEAL!!!

And £3k for 77” is a deal!:) Voted hot!

Currently enjoying my brand spanking new 55” FZ952B and regretting I did not go for 65” even though my room is fairly small:/
The 77” must be like being in cinema!:)

No because it's generally more enjoyable to watch a new movie at the cinema than in your living room. It is not more enjoyable to take the bus that to drive. I mean..... seriously......who buys a TV for 3k? Get your priorities in order.

I don't understand the tone to your comment. Clearly people who can afford to buy a £3k TV will buy it. I'm not saying I would but I recently posted a deal for Samsung TV that was £4k last April but £1500 now. I seriously did consider buying that. It depends on how much disposable income you have and what's important.
£3000 is barely enough for a medium popcorn at my local cinema!

So tempted with this but will hang fire as I really want an 85” one but they are still crazy money. Patience! Heat added though.

Or don't go to the cinema, don't spend £3000 on a TV.

Just stare at a wall for hours on end.

£3,000 saved

What a ridiculous comment.

What if you want to watch sport and not just movies? TV series?

Shouldn't have bitten and the troll comment but couldn't help it
Brilliant deal. Won't find anything like it for a TV this size at this level of quality
Ex display.. So £3k for a TV that would have been on for about 8 hours a day for last 14 months...

Brilliant price but I would be worried about the screen burn not covered under the warranty.
However, I would buy this for sure, pay by credit card and then if I found screen burn or it developed, I would go with a section 75 claim and see what a judge might say. Set a precedent even!

Correct Nippy, but I like to be able to do some banking whilst watching my favourite film. Can't do that at a Cinema.

Good for you...Well done on your success in life. I can only hope to have half as much success so that I too can go around saying how I would never buy things.

And sit near people munching food and using their phones and talking ....err no...think I will stick with my small 2 person ( just me and wife) home cinema where the picture and sound are actually better than the cinema and the seats recline and films start any time I want and no travel ...etc etc

Good find heat added, this is an excellent deal if you have the room
Surely with TV's in this price bracket then you just have to wait 3 days and then get a better deal?
They are all premium products, prices will inevitably drop.

A discount from a made up number doesn't really sound like a discount, because you'd have to be the sort of person that doesn't mind paying an extra few thousand quid just to be the first person with a big TV.

But this looks pretty good for £3K
Cold from me, I could hire actors to put on the play of my choice at least twice, eat microwave popcorn, drink Aldi wine and save on a TV Licence too/
Good price, cheapest I’ve seen this elsewhere is about £4K but I’m put off by this been on in a store for around 3500 hours with store mode on which sets the brightness etc to high levels to give the tv more pop in store but increases the risk of burn in.
Great first post, great price for a monster oled
I purchased this TV from Currys in Leicester at the weekend, brilliant deal as I already have the 55" and its an awesome TV. Must be a nationwide thing - get checking in your local store NOW!!!

Hes voting cold because its a new person posting. He wants to keep him/her in their place.
This is standard forum behaviour.
It's a good deal if you want to take the chance with oled and its inherent problems.

Can't beat a nice warm welcome lol

Still an awesome TV. I have a few top end Samsung LCD but my 65 c8 simply blows them out the water when you feed it some 4k hdr material.
Does anybody know of any reviews that compare 2015 OLEDS vs 2018 OLEDs?

I have a 2015 OLED and am struggling to be convinced that a 2018 would be a significant, appreciable upgrade....
I’ve got a 2017 LG OLED65B7. The picture quality is just breathtaking but from the B6 onwards the improvements have been nice but relatively minor. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to upgrade from a B6 if you have one.
Upgrading from a non-OLED, absolutely, there’s an enormous difference.
I’m surprised no-one has pointed out that the picture quality from this is far better than anything you’ll see in any cinema.
HDR, WCG, black levels are far better on an OLED TV. Many cinemas are still using 2K projectors and the blacks are a milky grey at best.
You may want to move your sofa nice and close but you won’t regret it.
