Currently on sale, a highly rated Baby Monitor including 720p HD camera and digital 3.5" display.

I've been looking for a decent video baby monitor for our pending arrival as our old Tomy unit didn't fair well despite being great at first.

Didn't realise how far these had moved on. Didn't want the movement pad as I just think these cause panic.

This seems to fit the bill. Bought via click and collect so can't confirm same price in store.

We've had a few teething problems setting up to test it out - fine between display and camera but it wanted a firmware update on connection to wifi which stalled setup to mobile. I'm using an android phone (LG g4 on Lollipop) and it took a few attempts as the pairing mode timed out between setups. Final hurdle was a washed out display. Rebooting the camera fixed it.

All in all seems great. Built in night vision looks fine. The lullabies (5) are ok but we'll probably revert to a winnie the pooh ceiling thing which was great last time.

Thought this was a bargain really.

Any alternative suggestions for a camera/screen setup? Don't intend to use as a baby monitor.

I've been looking all day over the net for some info on this. Could you answer a couple of questions for me please. With the supplied monitor it says talk activated. Does this mean the monitor can go into Eco mode and turn the screen of and activate when the camera hears or sees movement. I don't want the screen on all night but would like it to turn on when it detects something. Thanks in advance impav x

buy cheaper IP Wi-Fi camera from eBay and it will work in the same way. What's point spending £100 +... for this.????

I have the older version and the screen turns off after a while but the leds light up if there is noise and you can turn the screen on to look.

Hi, it seems to display in Economic mode with movement exactly like my old Tomy which is good. Noise comes through then. On the app (which can run simultaneously) you get alerts when movement or noise detected, then you can check the live feed. I've only set it up today and baby isn't due yet, so the dog is our test dummy! Hope that helps.

The benefit here (for us anyway) was my wife wanted a high quality, dedicated monitor. This is 3.5" which is twice as big as our old monitor's screen. I was personally happy with a wifi camera. The additional features are the wake on movement /noise and lullabies.
For a security camera, certainly there are cheaper and higher quality camera only set ups just from what I've seen. The canary is about £129 at the moment I think and I'm tempted to get one.

On a further check i_like_crisps is spot on. The screen itself doesn't come back on automatically with noise/movement. The LEDs light up similar to an equaliser display with the volume of noise detected.
Default for standby off charger seems to be 5 mins with options for 30 or 60 mins in settings. HTH.
