Are people installing these themselves. Or should I get a plumber?

You'd need an electrician. No water involved.
Stick with screwfix. Don't give these crooks your money

Currys / pc world will still price match while the app shows the price 🏻 which sadly may only be till midnight 👎🏻
I love the term price match, some might say price fixing and cutting out competition....

RRP’s are more guilty of that. I think they need to be banned. Ultimately retailers should sell at a margin they feel they can afford.

It's easy to install yourself if you know your way around a plug and can switch off your mains.

I installed mine today it was rather easy theres a step to step guide and there are plenty of video and information online but if youre notcomfortable with messing with anything I'd advise you get someone in.

If you download the app from the link in the description, and search nest. Show the app to a member of staff they will honour the price.

It's an easy DIY job if you know little bit of electrics. Check this simple video guide for UK installation.
I'm put off by the fact warranty is only 1 or 2 years! At this price it should be 5 years at min! What would you do with the device if it stopped working outside warranty!? Who can repair these!?
Link for non apple?
If I can change a light fitting/wiring, can I do this?
I’m getting someone to install mine and I’m ok with DIY and electrics. I have a system boiler with two zones. Two separate controllers for each zone but one also controls the hot water. I think I could give it a go but for £100 I’d rather have peace of mind that a professional has sorted it all.
Looks like they may have taken it off the app

Can this be used as a mobile thermostat?

Can this be used as a mobile thermostat?

no. it needs power. hive on the other hand uses battery so it can be mobile.
They won’t honour this in store now, even though I had the screen shot from this morning, so it’s expired. I’d get it from crewfix but I have vouchers for curry’s annoyingly.
Called sales this morning whilst the app still showed £158, but what they do apart from waste my time is then click the Amazon link it got the price from, search for the item then call out if it still matches or not (which it didn’t) then say they will off at the price they find it which at this point was £189.99.

my guess is if you are lucky and got someone in store to put it through without them phoning up for the ‘code’ then good for you as I think that is what they are meant to do.

no reason to buy from curry’s if its available from amazon via prime at the lower price, go figure...

anyways, expired. Try your luck in store as the OP did if it happens again

Cheapest I can find is here btw : electrical-showroom.co.uk/nes…ion (£177).

Dont know about the company etc. So if anyone has any experience of them ?

Tbh I would watch a few video and read about it first I would say yes you probably could, but best to have a read up about it first before you commit to tackling it yourself, I personally look at it Frist and through I'd struggle but after doing it was easy.

Sort of... it can plug into mains sockets via usb so it can be easily transferred from room to room but isn’t truly mobile
Nest or Hive??

Bought from screwfix because of this comment. Didnt see screwfix deal but was straight forward on their website vs this app-foolary.

I agree. Traditional thermos you get 10 year warranty this is just a joke and a rip off
