I haven’t, sorry

Don't suppose you've successfully used a USB C hub with it by any chance. Would be great to hear that someone has, and which one.

I have this laptop. It is great. Bit confused about curry’s calling it a sale though- usual tricks of charging the higher price for a short amount of time I guess as this is what I paid 2 months ago. Not sure it’s technically an amazing deal as it is still expensive but a good bit of kit.

Very nice. Expensive, but, very nice.

Found this information on Amazon about charging via USB C. Might be useful. USB-C port does allow charging the Swift 5 (2018) ultrabook. I tested it with different USB-C charging adapters but what is working: Acer Swift 7 genuine USB-C power charger PA-1450-78 (5/9/15/20V via USB-C, 45W).

It is very dull in parts and missions very samey. Saved by the fantastic character that is Dutch van der Linde.

It was hyped and I was in from the start. I quickly got bored of riding to a place on the map, killing a guy and riding to a different place on the map. Just to do this again...and again....and again....and again....... and again.... (You see the pattern here?) Plus they took out liars dice. Poor move.

sold one that was rusting inside and the buttons are cheap all plastic over contacts with only a decent dial

We've got this model, it is rubbish and I think we paid slightly less for it. My advice is to get one with buttons, not a knob, and to get one with a better light. There is no way this is worth £169, and you'd have to be mad to pay even £112.95! Currys licenced the Kenwood brand name to use on their own white goods and put it on appliances made for them in China etc. Their marketing strategy appears to me to be to set very high RRPs for what you are getting, and have multiple models of similar specifications, so that they can have some at full price and some at a more realistic "special" offer price, and alternate the models on offer around, to make people think they are getting a bargain.

Expensive for a microwave that’s not stainless steel. Just brought a kenwood stainless steel from amazon for £75. Really good!

Is it stainless steel interior ?

These are Currys own brand seems pricey for an on brand product.

I'm with Talk Talk on £25 per month Just phoned them and got a reduction to £19:95 a month for a new 18 month contract (up to 36 mb) which is fine for me as I only get 29 mb anyway Make sure you ask to speak to a manager straight away as normal sales reps won't give you a reduction Just say "I wish to make a complaint to a manager as you are charging me more than another person for the same service" 0800 049 1424

Thankfully I only go to cinema for special occasions as so expensive and I begrudge it for a Coke, and a ticket. Fulham was my last visit like over a year ago lol. Was like walking into the 80s excluding the modern carpet and food counter that looked so out of place lol I was shocked this was a central London location in Chelsea! Obviously the posh are too posh for cinema or they would have spent the money on a refurb in 1990

That's my thoughts too - the one in Paisley/Linwood is horrific, the other... worse!

Only two in Scotland is West Coast, more Glasgow than W Coast, bet they have the worst - falling to bits, it’s the crime capital per head capitaof Scotland so doubt they invest anything more than a broken lavvy lock.

If you're asking whether you can forego the Echo Dot in your car and use the app like an "Echo dot" then... the voice activation is not "always on", you have to unlock the phone, ensure the app is onscreen and then press the button every time. The ability for the phone mic to pick up your command may also be less than optimum. I often use my phone for navigation so having the app onscreen is no good for me

You use the same app. You just have to add the device (echo input) to the app. Wheater is the Input in the car, or an Echo Dot in the house, it's the same.

Question. Would the Alexa app on an iPhone have the same functions as one of these in a car?

This can run off micro USB due to the lower power requirement not having to drive a speaker. Dot 3 power supply was upgraded in order to drive the more powerful speaker, audio volume and quality was the main criticism of the dot 2 so it was the obvious move on for a device which is very much about music.

Not a ring, but the dot in the centre turns blue when used. I think the dot is lit when the device is on.

I don’t think I can justify that with an answer but one of the YouTube videos in that thread shows all the videos from the different apps and then a post production via Adobe Premiere. It’s about 10mins long, half of which are varied clips of the back of a man’s head.

Quite interesting actually as I have never gotten a clear answer from anyone - how much does post production warp stabilisation do to fix the jittering?

I agree - whilst there is a bit of cleaning that can be done as post production, I for one don’t have the luxury of time to be doing that for all my videos, even if the results look good

I appreciate the clarification, just wanted to help if anyone wants to buy this to stabilise their footage only to realise later that their footage isn’t very stable or usable.

Sonos Beam Compact Sound Bar with Alexa integrated £379 Currys
Found 6th FebFound 6th Feb
5 speakers with dialogue enhancement Amazon Alexa built-in Supports High-Resolution Audio Compatible with SONOS multi-room WiFi

If you're just after a soundbar, then Sonos might not be worth it. If you're after a more house-wide setup/ecosystem, so you can have the same music playing in different rooms for example, then it's worth considering Sonos with this as one part of it.

Is it worth it? I'm deciding between soundbars and I almost got sold on Sonon by all the raving reviews. Then I noticed a couple of comments that people bought the Sub straight away with this. Then I checked it's price. Isn't buying into this 'ecosystem' a bit vicious and wouldn't it be better to get something like Sony ZF9 or other brands?

I’ve got the beam, a sub and two ones setup in the lounge. The beam was the first part of the system and it’s just outstanding

As the Beam is connected either by HDMI or optical it's not an issue. Would only be a problem if you were streaming music to it, rather than using it as a TV soundbar.

Daft question possibly, but what happens if your internet drops out or stops for whatever reason? Does the TV surround sound stop playing or is it not a factor?

I had a John Lewis one a couple of years back and it was awful. wouldn't dry anything properly, all the clothes were damp after hours of being in it, got my money back and went back to a vented dryer which is superb and clothes are bone dry within an hour.

Go away. Muted.

You later said your dryers were AEG, rebranded or not. How does this have any relations to this Beko brand? The clue is in the name. Even Which? state that "It’s not unusual to see a heat-pump dryer take an extra 10 minutes per kg of clothes in comparison with a vented or condenser dryer – that’s more than an hour per load for a 7kg capacity dryer" So to answer your initial question, I and others on HUKD, have experienced longer cycles and they do not come out bone dry. In any case, I'll take your advice with a pinch of salt because of the manner you present it so matter of factly.

What are you on about, that has no relation to anything I said!

They were always Lucky Goldstar in South East Asia (hence LG) but was marketed under the Goldstar brand in Europe

No, they used to be called Goldstar at the start. That's the point I was making.

Actually it's Lucky Goldstar and they were sold in Argos alongside budget brands such as Daewoo, Bush, Grundig, Awai etc. They rebranded and tweaked the packaging and made their products more Japanese like to meet the big boys head on and the rest is history. They are a Korean brand and often emualating Japanese tech. My 2nd LG TV has bitten the dust this week despite only being used once every blue moon and playing second fiddle to a 12 year old Samsung plasma which is far brighter. I am seriously considering buying a Hi Sense 75" TV which is well revered in China, my family is from Hong Kong so know just how well it is received there and that is a very tough market to sell in if you don't have a good product.

Not in my experience, spotted a TV on C&M with a 5 year warranty, Richers Sounds were advertising the same TV for £200 more than C&M. I phoned RS telesales, they just checked the C&M website and offered me the same TV with a £220 price reduction and their 6 year warranty. No hassle.

That's the same pack as the box and ticket in your picture shows. If they had it in-stock then why wouldn't it have been the price that the ticket shows? Strange, you should have asked to speak to the store manager and got him to explain exactly what was going on and why you couldn't have it for the advertised price.

When I asked staff what version is of headset v1 or v2 I got this weird look and nobody from staff didn't know plus one guy said he playing xbox so he don't know .This shop is terrible nobody know anything . I think it was this pack she show me beacause they checking price online and I was so pissed off and remember it was two hundred something .

Was it a different bundle pack she was trying to sell you for £250, maybe the Mega Pack? It doesn't really make sense otherwise. By the way, with the ticket in the picture it shows that the price ends in 97p, this means that it is a discontinued clearance line I believe.

Lady in shop was like ,, whatever we dont even have it on stock but if you want order you need pay price from our website ,, So I said thanks for wasting my time her excuse was nintendo switch is same they have empty boxes on shelfs . I never again will go there , shop where are only empty boxes on shelf and you need order online so where is point to keep shop like this . When I going to store I want buy something straightaway if I wanted order online I could do it from home or on mobile .

That's false advertising, if its labelled that price on the shelf they have to honour it.

No you have to take out a contract, the cheapest of which is £17.99. You can then cancel the contract and they'll charge you a fee of £13.60 to do so.

Can you just buy the device without a contract?

Some mention why not use your phone as a hotspot. I thought this too until I purchased a 30GB EE sim last year on the 50% deal. The problem with the phone is if you connect your ipad to the phone, it disconnects if you walk away. I'm not sure if it's when the ipad goes to sleep or the phone, but it seems Ios disconnects. Then when you wake them up, it doesn't reconnect again unless you go to the personal hotspot settings. That's another thing actually, devices don't connect to the phone automatically like they do with wifi.

Just noticed that EE is doing 30GB for £17 on here, i think that's even better, isn't it? Bit, how reliable are they, i don't know...

i've just placed the order and hope that it gets tracked through quidco, also they offering £20 amazon voucher on invite for the first purchase but never tried this
