otherwise, there is the cost of delivery to add, if not over £20

how much is delivery if it is under £20

and you can only order one dvd player at a time

I have one of these from last time they were in stock (couple of weeks ago), and can confirm it plays divx / xvid / pretty much everything I've thrown at it up til now... Even original DVD's ;-)

I too bumped the order up to £20.XX for free delivery... and my £2 speakers even work. And they're probably worth just about that too, but they serve the purpose I bought them for... which is not everyday use (thankfully!)

WOW it plays xvid aswell i doubt you can update the codecs but it seems to have great support to begin with, i wasn't expecting full xvid support

Could you answer me one question though,

Does it support Divx movies stored on a dvd disc?

Cold. Shocking Company Avoid!

Does this play mkv? Or only DivX

Got one of these last week. It doesn't recognise anything so it's going back. A very light and flimsy build.

Hehe, it won't play mkv that's for sure.

It must support DivX playback via disc as there's no USB connection from what i've read...now that WOULD have been good!

Mate bought one last week, I know they are cheap but bloody hell they are naff.

If you subscribe to the Big Offers mailing list, they send you a £5 off voucher which would mean free postage on the DVD player.

Same here, even for a tenner I was shocked at the awful build. Mine's well and truly duff. :-(

What doesn't it play then? Divx , DVD what.

Mine plays nothing, hence it's going back. I get a Wrong Disc error message whatever i put in it.

I'm getting No Disc on anything I've tried, played a divx file for about 10 mins, froze, then nothing since. Looks like some are working fine though from what people are saying here.

I received the player today only 2 days after ordering, they sent it next day delivery even though i didn't choose that option.

The player is very lightweight but does not look or feel cheap it came in black and grey as in the picture. After hooking it up i put in a divx dvd and found it played all the files, the file menu shortens the file names and CAPS them. I tried a few dvd's and they read fine too. Out of about 36 divx/xvid movies there was only one that wouldn't play, it supports high bitrates and can also play high resolution(720*304p) I also tried some other media and found it can play some mpeg files, haven't tried anything else yet. The disc drive is also very quiet and the there are there are components in the back for progressive scan along with s-video and scart.

There is a problem though, the remote control does not work very well, one minute all the buttons work perfect and the next you
find yourself pushing them 4 times before a response happens, I have no idea how to fix it but i think it has something to do with the battery connection.

the other strange thing is that the box, manual and dvd player itself had absolutely no mention of divx support

Edit: I was wrong about the highest resolution it refused to play 840*484p, The highest resolution i have tried that was supported was 720*304p

for £10.99 i still think it was a good buy as it plays back almost any divx and xvid media with a smooth high framerate.

For the people saying they couldn't get it to work i'll try to help if asked
