Thank you for the links

As of 20:30 this evening our local Tesco extra was still selling it for 19.97??? Still bought one though, they are a great idea.

What's a Tesco Extra...I have a BIG Tesco near me, as well as a Metro and Express....but no Extra!

Tesco Extra are the largest stores mine is at Westwood in Broadstairs Kent .Locally we have the Extra ,two merto's and a normal large Tesco superstore(not an extra)

The Extra stores have some very good offers ive noticed that an offer the Extra have sometimes the superstore don't have

Both superstores and Extras have non food departments I think the Tesco website states which is which

None at bursledon :x

Extras have a large range of non-food items and clothing

so they have many many many more televisions, household appliances, luggage items, stationary etc etc. the stores tend to be huge in size for instance my local bog standard supermarket would probably a good 3 to 4 times over into the Tesco Extra - Blackpool which i visited today.

Absolutely Humungous!

Extra stores tend to be in areas which are in need of regeneration, or theres a lot of land available to accomadate it. Most councils are refusing planning permission for Extra stores - saying it could be better used for housing/or it would drive away small businesses etc.
And so as a result you tend to see them in the outer surburbs of most cities/towns.

thanks op. got one in swansea llansamlet store yesterday. only one left on the shelf after ours.
