Found 10th Mar 2016
Tragically, custard creams have been off the shelves for a while due to flooding at 't factory oop north, but they're back! Only small packets, but it's a start.

Sadly, no sign of ginger nuts ... yet.

18p, now there's a bargain.
Never had a bad custard cream, so assume these will be equally yummy
standard price? wish they would get rid of the palm oil in these tho, btw each of the cookie is like 70calories!!! and when you start you can't stop eating them
nice find op, heat added
Anyone seen 'nice' biscuits in their local Lidl? Mine stopped selling them a while ago.
dunno

Does Lidl sell any nice biscuits at all ?
I do hope it's the United Biscuits custard creams which have been missing since the flooding. There's nothing like them. I've had to eat the Tesco ones for months now, and they're dreadful.
Anyone else missing bourbon biscuits? Since the factory was flooded, it's a nightmare getting hold of normal bourbons. Tesco seem to only stock 'Foxs' bourbons.

I've always wondered why custard creams are cheaper than bourbons too.

Best bourbons used to be co-op.

Bourbons....mmmmm.
That a joke cause I been in lidl today they no custard creams in stock at sutton in ashfield

Got some bourbons from my local Lidl and they are superb. Don't normally lik bourbons but these are very nice. Pleased with the custard creams too. The oaties and then rich tea ones aren't great. They are din for the price but the other two excel!
Nice to see Custard Creams back again

Yum. Separate biscuit and hold one half in each hand. Eat the piece without cream first, normally in two bites. Then take the remaining biscuit and scrape the cream along your top front teeth. Savour for a moment and then eat the remaining biscuit, again in two bites. Repeat until sated.

Or just stuff whole biscuit in gob, devour, then repeat until packet empty!

I love malted milk - a lot of them are the same, but you do get some that are not as "malty" and the sweetness overpowering.
I think it's always strange that they can have the same design (malted milks, custard creams etc) wherever you go (I guess nobody holds the copywrite to the design so I'm off to get them all copywrited tomorrow first thing and become the biscuit barron of the world
).

You physically can't stop eating them? I don't think that's a problem with the food....
Nothing beats a good american cookie or continental biscuit. The ones mentioned here are so bland and boring IMO
At 18p, are these actually as nice as the supermarket ones?

Mcvities factories were also affected the same way, but I'm guessing they don't make the lidl ones as they have almost brand infringing packaging on theirs. They may as well call them Mcvoties instead of Tower

I think you better emigrate. Really nothing more left for you in this country.
*points to the door*
this is actually a price increase since the old packets were twice the size but 35p or less. taste nice though, i thought the vanilla had been pumped up a bit - or is it my imagination?

lower calorie as the old pack used to go in a night, and as these are half the weight we only munched through one pack not two.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, on this occasion sadly that is the wrong one.

How very dare you compare the glorious custard cream to some foreign alternative...
These are lovely topped with some tuna and mayonaise.
Anyone know when Ginger Nuts are due back. Been missing them.

You're not much of a connoisseur of the old custard cream then, there can be quite a difference in quality / taste between manufacturers!
