No different to picking up any product off a shelf. They have wrappers on.

Agreed. But pick and mix is on another level of multiple dirty hands.

Nothing wrong with a modicum of hygiene awareness and stands me in good stead.

There's a little card to tick the sweets you want - I understand that staff then fill the tin with your choice.
And, the JL lady manning the stand wore disposable gloves

    If 1.2Kg costs £10, then 100g costs £10/12 = £0.83333333333.

Yes they do. So if you pick heavy ones the tin looks half empty.

    Hi,
I'm not sure tbh, didn't notice scales.
Perhaps they know a full tin is at least 1.2kg?!
In the Lindt shop there's a lovely gift box that can be filled for £22 - staff filled it really well, packing in a few more to use every last space!

As someone mentioned, it's been a feature for a few years - except last year, of course .

I smiled at your username - we'd just enjoyed watching the new Soprano film, The Many Saints of Newark (courtesy of O2 Priority! ) when I came across the Q.S. stand in J.L..

And, remember to keep the tin to refill next year!
