Please shop responsibly. As Coronavirus uncertainty develops, we are seeing a lot of community demand for basic household items. Please do consider others - we all need to work together to ensure everyone gets what they need. So please don’t stockpile, and perhaps offer to help older neighbours, family or friends by sourcing items for them.

I know it’s a lower alcohol content but it’s better than nothing

They charge £1.50 to pick up from store. I think I'll carry on with soap and water.

Why have you got the price at £5.05?

Because OP has done the post properly as and included postage charge. Wish more would post properly like this.

No , it’s £3.50 even if you order 2 or anything else for that matter from boots at the same time
Oos
Oos but the floral/fruity one is still in stock.
If you go out for your essentials you should find hand gels in-store, i got dettol ones the other day and cashier said most stores have hand gels and limited to 2 per customer!

They're adding the cost of another bottle on.
Because of its less alcohol content it won't be useful if you need it for corona virus protection.
OOS
gotta love anti-BACTERIAL wash your hands and don't get ripped off by these extortionate prices

So, too low to be effective. Minimum in the UK is 60% as I understand, and 65%-70% is recommended to be properly effective.
Placed an order using my points. I usually have these in my hand bag but have run out and can’t get them anywhere. Ideally would want a higher amount of alcohol but these have been part of my hand hygiene when out and about for years along with hand wipes, and will continue to be once this is over.

Washing your hands with soap and water is better than sanitizer when available anyway. An ineffective product can also give a false sense of security, and lead you to take risks, thinking it's working, and could then backfire.... so I would disagree.

Yes, a good hand sanitizer is better than nothing, of course. A bad hand sanitizer is worse; you'll feel like it's clean, and continue acting like it's clean, while in fact, it may not be. Better to not take the risk.

Obviously I mean for when you have to go out for shopping & soap & water not available, even if it takes a few additional germs away!! I don't think anybody in their right mind would be taking any unnecessary risks right now!

This will kill 99.99% of Bacteria, so it's GOOD AND BETTEr THEN nothing .. and your Hands will be clean
I don't recommend using this one, keep looking until you find one that's above 60%. When I was looking around at home to see what sanitisers I had I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I found 3 of these, until I noticed it was below 60%. When I looked it up to check it said anything below 60 would only slow the growth not kill it. I can't find the actual page again now, but any page I've seen on the subject has always said to only use sanitiser above 60% alcohol content. I think this may give a false sense of security, better to keep searching for another. I have left my 3 of these at the back of the drawer, luckily I still have a few carex left that's 70%. Problem is now many are just buying whatever they can get their hands on, but really it's best to check the alcohol content and if it doesn't say or is below 60 it's best to avoid.

Calm down dear, any hand sanitizer will do.

Over in Germany, scientists can't find the virus:

thelocal.de/202…pot

Streeck added: "We were in a household where many highly infectious people lived, and yet we did not manage to detect a living virus from any surface."

People were thinking of it. In fact, in the US the FDA were considering banning a lot of a lot of alcohol based hand sanitizers a few years back, so it was a hot topic in the media. I would say it's pretty common knowledge that it needs to be 60% as a bare minimum.

That has nothing to so with hand sanitizer; by the logic of not finding it in the house the argument would be don't bother with it at all.

It is interesting, though.
