WHO recommends at least 60%, should be fine

Contains 57.6% alcohol w/w (66% alcohol v/v)
Cuticura hand gels are formulated with the exact level of alcohol (ethanol) required to provide the protection against harmful bacteria whilst helping to care for the skin. The alcohol content in Cuticura is measured by weight (w/w) at 57.6%, as printed on our packs. This converts to 66% by volume (v/v) and is therefore above the minimum recommendation level of The Centres for Disease Control and World Health Organisation.

I think in the long term, people are going to be a lot more hygienic than they previously were. So even with corona ongoing, not a bad price for hand sanitiser for non-corona killing people.

Yeah, the white ones were £1.69 for 200ml in Home Bargains, shed loads of them in fact including loads of other brands and didn't even see there was a limit of 2 per person anymore.

Amongst all the overflowing detritus lying outside these lockdown days I was quite taken aback today by the sight of empty branded soap boxes someone is taking hygiene seriously but not littering...

Are you mixing up proof with percentage alcohol - 86deg proof is 43%. I'm sure you might have some over-proof whiskey, but I doubt you'll use it to wash your hands with

Why does every other manufacturer print per weight too, yet still exceeds the WHO recommended level?
I feel cuticura are saying this to make people feel better, but a carex i have on my desk right now is 70g per 100g.
Im sure more is better

No it doesn’t. People are saying the cuticura blue total one does but it doesn’t either.

More alcohol is better? That isn’t the case with killing viruses. Too high and it’s useless because it needs to have enough water in the content to finally do the job. Anything above 80% is useless (ideally 62%-80% roughly).
Thanks been waiting months for this. My last pack was bought in November 6 100ml’s they were alcohol free bought by mistake and didn’t kill you know what.

62% what? Volume or weight?
Homebargains are selling them for £1.69 for the 200ml so seems pretty expensive for 6 of them.

Bloody hope so, some people are utterly disgusting. Go to the loo, don’t wash hands at all.

The problem you a referring to relates to Cuticura Total Defence. This is the original version and hasn't got this problem.
spongebob191306/05/2020 21:56

62% what? Volume or weight?

Official guidelines from WHO are a minimum of 60% Alcohol by volume. This Cuticura is 66% by volume.
You do not need this
getlostfreak07/05/2020 07:37

You do not need this

Yes you do if you have to go out and get essential items from the shops! you can't carry a sink around with you can you?
Thanks scouser.

As for some comments, It may well be overpriced but as the wife and I are (age) isolating at home, we have no choice but to buy online.
We still need this, or disposable gloves, because of possible contamination from handling home delivery food and non food packaging.
I also have a hospital post op procedure next week and one of these will be essential to take as a back up on my long'ish walk back. (lift there, 4.3mile walk back)
Thanks for this... Currently living with my Mum who's got myeloma, hence I have to be super careful, so this will come into great use!
