These posts are getting rather boring now.

For vulnerable people that can’t get out, people who are juggling working and child care and everyone else that still can’t get these in shops they’re actually rather helpful.

I don’t need any myself but it was ONLY because of the deals others posted on this site I was able to get some.

Cuticura Total is anti viral and was posted earlier, better IMO, cheaper …Cuticura Total is anti viral and was posted earlier, better IMO, cheaper too. But less quantity, 6 x 100ml. Which is good, as you can carry it with you.The funny part people complain of the smell on the Total version. Let's see how many will complain this is not antiviral. Not sure if the perfect product was invented...

I posted that one as well, not cheaper per 100ml but the smaller more convenient bottles are definitely still very useful. The Anti-Viral chemicals in that one is why people complain about weird smells, either way although this isn’t directed at Virus’ like the total version, it is still effective against them.

These pump bottles are brilliant for the car.

Yes, it seems people can't process that perhaps the antiviral chemicals are the 'problem', my argument is they are not happy with this one, as is not antiviral, while are not happy either with the antiviral due to smell..

Purell version does not smell of fish, is 70% and conforms to EN 14476.

Sounds perfect to me.

I looked into that, of course these are flammable but with an ignition, but for these to spontaneously combust you’d have to heat them a temperature your car would never reach.

What I read was more saying the heat evaporating it and reducing the alcohol making it less effective

I was referring to this brand, dont know if Purell os the same make, my understanding is tgst within the brand, this is tge only antiviral they have.
I'm sure there are other products out there with a different smell you may like, but again, there will always be people suggesting they don't like that smell. I had this before, and I didn't feel it smells like fish. I didn't like the smell, but didn't last more than 2 minutes either.

Yeah I haven’t looked into that, not sure. I doubt it would in sealed containers but I’m not sure... Someone will know a bit more about this on here.

It’s a different brand with more alcohol so less aromatic ingredients.

Just switch brands if possible

I’m very grateful op, due to health reasons I’ve been using hand sanitiser finding it impossible to get it through normal sources and I’ve almost run out, thank you. Voted 🔥
Oh my. They've finally updated Amazon product listings to show 66% by volume. Hopefully that'll put paid to the constant claims in these sorts of threads that its not good enough.

COLD!

£1.50 at Superdrug! I picked it up instore recently.
I originally bought this one... but then thought.. my mum wont wanna carry that about in her handbag and seen the 6 bottle option so cancelled and switched to that.. lesser value but more practical. Still heat added for these and if i hadnt seen these wouldnt have known about the 6 100ml option! Thanks!

I take that back.. after reading the reviews and some of the comments on the other post I'm not taking the gamble on smelling like fish... we'll just need to lug the big one about! lol

The original one is also available in the smaller bottles, I updated the other deal with the link to that one as well.
if you don't have Prime then it's cheaper to get two of these - hotukdeals.com/dea…405

Even though it went stupidly cold, considering this deal is 200+ degrees.

Not for viruses

On the Amazon Q&A for this product, the Cuticura team comments that this hand sanitizer has 58% wt/wt alcohol (ethanol), which does not strictly meet the minumum 60% requirement laid down by the CDC.

cdc.gov/cor…tml

The WHO in fact recommends an 80% v/v ethanol concentration, and again this product wouldn't meet that threshold as it's 66% ethanol vol/vol.
who.int/gps…a=1

HOWEVER, a German group has recently published an early-release version of a detailed study of the impact of alcohol % in hand gels on nCOV-2 viricidal activity, and as you can see from Fig 1 in this paper there's no difference between 40%, 60% and 80% ethanol concentration in terms of the solution's viricidal activity - any concentration above 30% ethanol destroys this virus:

wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid…cle

Based on this paper, I'd happily use this Cuticura hand gel to protect myself.
