What is Cyberghost VPN?

Hide your IP address and surf anonymously:

CyberGhost VPN lets you surf anonymously by hiding your IP address and replacing it with that of the server you choose to connect to, making it impossible for hackers, third parties or other organizations to track you or meddle in your business.

Protect your private data:

Every time you connect through CyberGhost VPN a protective tunnel is formed around your information and all your data becomes encrypted. You don’t have to worry anymore about passwords, financial transactions or private conversations.

Unblock websites:

By using CyberGhost VPN you can bypass filters and firewalls and access location-restricted or blocked websites. like Facebook, Twitter, Skype and YouTube from school, university or work.

Safely use torrents:

If you want to be secure and anonymous while using programs like BitTorrent to download or upload content, make sure your internet connection is encrypted and your IP hidden with Cyberghost VPN.

A must if you're an expat or travel a lot:

CyberGhost VPN allows you to unblock sites like NBC, Netflix, Hulu or CBS and watch your favorite TV shows from another country. It also keeps you anonymous and protects your data when connected to public Wi-fi.

Free for basic service, this service disconnects you every 3 hours and takes 1 whole minute (make the tea?) to connect. The UK servers seem the best to me. They do reduce your net speeds somewhat on the free service but I still highly rate this vpn service. Especially if you are 60mb plus.

You can see the difference of the free and premium service here

The online reviews are good.

I'm so impressed by the free though I'm tempted to go for the premium, see what you think : something to do on a cold Sunday afternoon.

Always been free. I prefer Hotspot Shield.

I was looking into this just last night, but was having a terrible time trying to workout which was the safest and most effective... The majority of reviews on sites such as Cnet and Softpedia were clearly fake, with a fair few being unintelligible! In the end I settled on CyberGhost, it seems to work (speedtest gave 20 odd Mbp/s), but only used it briefly.

Are any of you guys saying you've used both, and if so, what makes HotSpot better?

I've been using slickvpn which isn't free. (small yearly payment), it's been good so far and fast. Never heard of hotspot but I found cyber ghost very slow.

these are all ok to use yeah? no one syphoning off your details? well apart from the NSA...(_;)

If you pay for cyberghost it's alot faster, there is a discount this year for 17 quid a year, I will probably sign up

I've used hotspot shield before and didn't find it to my taste, it's full of adverts for example which I'm not a fan of.

Was also trying one last night called SecurityKissTunnel, Seems quite good: The download speed was less than cyberghost but the upload speed was pushing 9mbps.

No free vpn will be perfect, it's all down to personal choice really, geographical location and your own isp. Cyberghost definately worth a try though, I was getting nice speeds with it on.

Cyberghost do not collect any logs: so there is no information to pass onto authorites

Hot Spot Shield seem to collect some anonymous data for the purposes of advertising etc including allowing third parties to use cookies for advertising purposes:

I think what you mean is that they claim not to collect any logs. How do you know what they do?

Well no one can be 100% sure about any vpn service, but being a forum reader I read this post:

board.cyberghostvpn.com/eng…gs/

They even invite people to visit their office and look at the sourcecode and database.

Host your own, it's trivial and cheap, then you can be 100% sure what goes on.

CyberGhost is great..there are several other good ones like HideMyAss, PIA, IPVanish, and PureVPN.

Free VPN apps like Hotspot Shield are good, but it annoys me because of its ads.
I see that paid unlimited VPN service is better than free.

According to my long experience with VPN programs CyberGhost and WaselPro are the best VPN service providers with secured and long lasting connection with no ads. Check it out vpnanswers.com/dow…ne/

If the NSA advise they needs logs, they get them. Simple really. No privacy policy or anything else can alter this.
