If CDPR wanted everyone to have it for the equivalent of £20 they would but its more expensive here because our economy is better. You are taking advantage of a loophole which takes a fair chunk of money away from CDPR. Why not pirate the game? £0 goes to CDPR but £0 gets taken away too so thats not bad, hey

I'd rather give CDPR 100% of the £23, than give CDKEYs £35.99

Its not rocket science is it

edit : I might be wrong, but wouldn't 20% of the £36 be VAT anyway?

Very true, but +- 30% is a big difference for not using VPN

Yes, about half the money. Using a VPN like this is basically just a loophole. If you want to support devs then buy it at around a good price in your own currency

This case is slightly different since GOG and the Cyberpunk devs are effectively the same company, so saying 'about half the money' doesn't really apply here.

Cdkeys will have bought 1000s of keys from cdpr at a flat price. Buying directly from the gog, which cdpr owns, they will be making considerably more money, regardless of which store you buy it from

Except £20 is half of £40. Buying from a country with a less valuable currency is still taking away from GOG. Its cheaper In Russia to make up for the difference in economy.

The point that was made was that all of the money goes to the developer company. Arguing that less money goes to the developer is a different issue.

If I wasn't going to pay full price, I'd prefer for 100% of my spend to go to the company, rather than some unknown percentage to CDKeys.

I suspect the company would prefer me to buy it via VPN rather than pirate it. I'm not saying anyone is wrong to pay full price - in fact, that's good - but the reality is that many people won't. In that case, I'd prefer them to pick the option that best benefits the developers.
How do we know CDKeys didn't buy these keys from a cheaper region in the first place? Is there any evidence CDPR get any more money if it were bought via CDKeys vs Russian GOG apart from it costing the end user more?

They could have done that route but they could have used stolen credit cards too and then CDPR get the charge back meaning they are losing around £40 each time
