I got 2 degrees in Cybersecurity and still struggled (BSc + MSc), but once I studied for professional certs (Comptia Sec+ and CYSA+) , my company took me on a secondment as a Cyber Security engineer. (One of biggest companies in world but would rather not say the name)

Most jobs ask for a degree, but by networking/friends the best advice is:

Degree with placement/intern + professional certs and DEFINITELY lab work in sandbox environment or TryhackMe.com - a lot of jobs asked if I've used things like Linux, SIEM, knowledge of protocols, malware knowledge. By the way, this site is great fun even if you purely want to learn. In about 10 days I learnt more than half a year of Uni. It's practical labs, and then makes you find the "flag" that has text to make sure you found the right answer. You type it in to the answer box and it'll put you to the next question. E.g, do a Vulnerability test and find a certain thing that could be a weakness.

Apprenticeships now exist for it, it didn't before I went uni, but most are degree apprenticeships as alot of cyber security roles still require a degree, purely to show your attention to research and academia. Because there is sometimes maths involved or research especially if you do threat intelligence.

Another idea is from basic IT workdesk, slowly up to networking then cyber security, but still would require some professional cert. But this is quite a long process and a lot tend to avoid a helpdesk as it's rather slow day-to-day, until you get promoted which could take a while. (edited)

And then the PDF they send (to everyone) has a note:

Issued to Michelle Siebert - (and then her email address)

    Oh, the irony! (edited)

The downloads are not encoded with your details. I just checked with my own sign up.

Better off looking into cloud engineering with some basic cyber security on the side. Quite difficult to break into security on education alone as most interviews will ask for examples where you've identified/remediated real world threats. (edited)

Has anyone flicked through, is it at all relevant or useful?
price in dollars made me suspicious of how appropriate the advice would be for uk workers

Sounds like a perfect scam to get your work's email, infect your work's system then charge to uninfect everything...... I wonder if the gift of a free ebook is worth my job...?

Avoid if you don't want to start receiving more spam calls. Phone number and work email is required and you are agreeing to allow them to use your personal information. No thanks!
