A NEW GENERATION OF ADJUSTABLE CHILD SAFETY

Another in the long line of test winning seats from Cybex, Pallas M-Fix was test winner in Group 1/2/3 in the 06/2015 Stiftung Warentest, and has received numerous awards from the most renowned European consumer testing institutions. The Pallas M-Fix grows with your child and offers excellent safety from approximately 9 months to 12 years.

The Pallas M-Fix is adaptable, and uses an adjustable impact shield which functions like an inflated airbag in the event of a collision, and protects against neck injuries without being restrictive. For children from approximately 3 years and above, the seat can be easily converted into a Solution M-Fix booster, as well as being able to be used in a car without ISOFIX points.

The impact shield helps to significantly reduce the force of an impact in a collision, the shield doesn't injure the child, whilst protecting the sensitive head, neck, shoulders and inner organs. The newly designed shield can be adjusted with one hand to offer a better degree of comfort and safety for your child, along with more freedom of movement.

When your child has outgrown the shield at 18kg, the Pallas converts into a Solution booster seat that allows them to be secured via the seatbelt up to 36kg. Featuring the Cybex L.S.P. System Plus, the adjustable shock absorbers allow the seat to absorb energy from a side impact which allows the head to be actively guided into a safe position.

With a convenient one-hand recline function, and a patented reclining headrest you know your child will have a comfortable seating position. The revolutionary technology safely shifts the balance point of the child's head slightly back and prevents it from falling forward when the child is asleep. Vital for long journeys!

Suitable from 9 to 36kg (Approximately 9 months to 12 years)
Forward Facing only
R44/04 Compliant
ISOFIX Installation (uses 3 point belt for shield and in booster mode)
Impact Shield Restraint

That's a different model, the CYBEX Pallas M-Fix SL, which doesn't have an adjustable headrest. The same model is £235 on that site: kiddies-kingdom.com/gro…tml

What is the problem with forward facing? Only newborn seats are rear facing.

I'd prefer to pay for a something that will ensure my child survives a crash so I'm not sure how much it costs to make comes in to it. Costs also include research and development of the product, marketing and customer service. Not just a bill of materials.

Its not only newborn seats that are rear facing now. Rear facing seats can go up to 25 kg (about 125 cm, 6 years) dependant on your child as they may reach the limits earlier if taller/heavier.
Rear facing is much safer as tests have shown. Check out you tube for rear facing vs forward facing crash tests.
Theoretical rear facing until 6 years is one thing, achieving that in practice is quite another!

Spend £200 on a rear facing seat then - your child is much more likely to survive a crash then.

Perfectly achievable if they're within the weight/height limits of the seat.

Possibly not achievable if you don't have a large car.
If your on Facebook take a look at a-z of rear facing, it will give you loads of information on rear facing. I have a five year old that rear faces that was forward facing until 3 and a half.
