Been looking for an e-bike for a while, and came across this on Amazon. It's not my cup of tea, as I'm looking for something more like a mountain bike, but less than £200 for a brand new e-bike had me tempted. This model has 20 reviews on amazon, all are either four or five stars.

Sounds like a bargain to me. Wish I had a use for it. Hot

o wow that is great price

What a joke. You see, because it is 27kg with with battery, the motor going uphill won't necessarily help you all thatuch
It will give you a maximum of 250Watts extra power but remember this is almost three times the weight of a decent hybrid bike so you are having to pit significantly more effort onto riding it.

Thanks for that tip. What I do first is check how many wheels it has, if it has 4 then usually it's a car I find. Before I implemented this I got very confused when dealing with a Robin Reliant, it was a bit like when the monkeys see the monolith for the first time in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Seems to be excellent value and gets great reviews, Voted hot.

There seems to be a few people in the amazon q&a section commenting the can't order this.
Good price and ideal for getting reluctant people to enjoy cycling.

Wouldn't let me order it

Have you actually ridden one?
I can tell you, as having owned a 29kg e-bike before, I could fly up hills (UK law actually says 200w, 250w is EU). The law limits continuous power, but allows momentary peaks of power that can be higher. Mine could peak at 500w.
So in summary, it's not a joke, at all. You'll get far more power than most peoples legs could provide.

Anyway, 20kg isn't much when you think about it. When you factor in the weight of the rider, and potentially any bags they're carrying. 20-30kg is normal for most ebikes. You'll get 5kg~ for the battery, another few kg for the motor, etc.

Good price, battery alone will cost nearly that.
Not sure of this model, but might be able to add some solder to the shunt for more oomph. Mine is also 24v but has smaller wheels and a bit lighter, they're great up slight to moderate hills, you will be overtaking people on their £1000 hybrid bikes panting away, although on the straights they'll catch you up.

Take an easy math

Very good ebike weights 17kg + 70kg for a normal rider

This bike 27kg + 70kg rider

So the difference is just about 10%, not a huge difference

This seems very similar to the Woosh Santana electric bicycle which is very well received and reviewed by the electric bicycle community for a sub £1000 (£625) Chinese built bicycle. This one sounds like it has a smaller battery, either a 24V 10Ah or a 36V 7Ah so you'll get less range but a similar amount of grunt. It's also a few kg heavier which wouldn't be very noticeable when using the motor but cycling without will be tough work on high gear.

I've had a few electric bicycles and on the sub £1000 products, you pay for a bit more reliability and aftersales service. At £200, this is almost a throw-away bargain when the battery craps out. Hot!

What a fab bike. When a certain lady runner overtakes me when I am on my bike, I can switch on the electric power - problem solved.

Probably why the price has fallen so low.

Plus you need to add at least 1kg for a secure D-lock if you want to keep it.

Surprised it is so heavy since it supposed to have an aluminium frame and a Lithium Battery.

Finally! Got it delivered to an address in Turkey. Heat added.

how come? tried too many turkey adresses plus uk ones but still not working. ??

I bet you are still three times the weight of the bicycle :-)

And yes, a professional athlete may be able to generate about 1000 Watts peak, normal mortals can only produce a few hundred Watts, and it is hard work. So an extra 250 Watts is very welcome indeed.

My problem with this is price: a decent electric bicycle is not cheap: batteries, motor, gearbox, and a robust frame, those things cost money. For 200 Pounds I would not expect you can do a proper job - you have to cut corners.

And I say that riding a hybrid bicycle that is getting 20 years old, but cost more than this originally.

Ah, but one of the reasons they're offering it so cheap is that Amazon's pricing system has repeatedly cut its price because it isn't selling, in this case as they won't deliver it to anyone. As soon as they sell a few the price will rocket up. Of course that doesn't mean its not a pile of junk.

The same sort of thing sometimes seems to happen to the price of their items while they're temporarily out of stock.
