Voted hot on price. But isn't really necessary IMO, and anyway in the review I read, the DAC wasn't a very good one.
It's a very good DAC and boosts the output from your phone if you have hard to drive earphones. I have Klipsch earbuds which are fantastic but hard to drive, the Cyrus makes a significant improvement. At the moment I'm using it on my PC as the sound card, it brings out detail in tracks far better than the on board sound.

This or Cambridge Audio DacMagic …This or Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS?https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015JESYV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_NOx0DbQD80AXY

Contact RS in case they have any of the black XS ones still lurking in a store or two. They were selling them off very cheaply a little earlier in the year. May have sold all the stock.
iphone user here
the connector from the DAC to the iphone is very loose on mine and I've had to use a replacement, plus you need to buy the apple camera connector too, it does sound good but in retrospect it's a bit of an unwieldly solution & I'd have got something different

Love mine, I fact I have several for laptop phone etc. The supplied cabels work well for Android but as stated not suitable for iPhone out of the box. As for sound quality it's a definite improvement over the built-in DAC on my phone. For £50 they're a bargain.
Bargain price. Excellent piece of kit for those who love their music.
Don't forget your source material, Amazon HD streamin, Qobuz, Tidal HD or your own FLAC etc material. The difference is like night and day.
Great spot Mr Switch

I’d buy a schiit 3 or their tube headphone amp if it was me!

I find the gap even bigger between all those services and a good cd to be honest. Might be my guitarist ears, don’t get me wrong I do stream
Good price
For the ultimate in DAC quality at this low price point I'd go for the Topping D10 (bigger form factor though)

No, more suitable for home use. Though it does actually work usb'ed up to a phone/laptop. The sound from this thing is stellar. I have the DacMagic XS and it's much noisier in comparison.

With a decent DAC and Hi Res source I much prefer the sound (streamed or otherwise) to CDs.
That and CDs don't fit in my phone
On Amazon now too. (sold by RS)
