I used to have these D-Link cameras. Image quality is not good - low resolution - and doesn't record. App is not great either.

Replaced them all with the 1080p Yi Home ones which are cheaper and much better quality with on-board or cloud recording.

Agree these are poor compared to Yi or even the Clever Dog cameras. My 3 all died over time. Software poor. Price is the best its been for a while though
Agree with both comments above.
Used for years and twice identified thieves from photos with app, so up to job and d-link support is good

The camera is 9 years old in no way is this a good deal. If you want to go cloud you can get a 1080p Neos camera on amazon for £19.99 or for £25 a 1080p TP-Link Tapo C200 which supports ONVIF and RTSP as well as micro sd. This d-link is old tech and should be avoided.
I know the tech and work in the industry. It is good because after 9 years firmware still updated for security, unlike others and quality good without you needing 1080p. It does not lead you to a cloud provider to host content for a monthly fee. Rather set up flexible enough to send any number of images or stream video to you as email attachment or to ftp site from its own in built media server. Also great flexibility with detection area, sensitivity and remote access over internet or on local intranet !

Your talking rubbish VGA quality is crap end of. Plenty of choice available for same money that are higher spec and offer both local and remote access. No excuse for buying out of date cameras which belong in the bin.
Get your facts right 640x480 actually looks good enough for many purposes, with infra red included with this camera !

It looks crap especially for a 9 year old camera not worth spending a penny on this. Feel free to continue liking your own comments very sad.
Does the job nicely if you know what you are doing and want a reliable solution well supported with software and firmware upgrades
