Bought it a few days ago. Excellent switch. Fast and stable speeds
Brilliant price for a 8x port metal casing un-managed switch.
The 5 port version is also £10.99, pretty good price!
Think I'm gonna grab the 5 port. Anyone know the difference between the DES and this the DGS? DES is £1 more

DGS means G Gigbit, the other should be only Megabit, so the Gigabit should be faster if your cabling supports it

Cheers. Odd they charge more for the non gigabit!

I have an 8 port which had finally started playing up after 15 years, but never used all the ports so a new 5 port fits the bill nicely!
You lose a port to connect to your router and lose a port on your router but you end up with 10 usable ports if you had 4 on your router
I’ve had this for about a year and it’s been just fine. Never needed a reboot and it just sits there quietly doing what I need. Definitely worth this price.
Purchased thanks
This may be a silly question so please bear with me.

We are short of network ports in the office where I work, could I connect this to a network port and then connect three computers to the switch?

Depends - if it’s a “proper” network with fully managed switches your networks people may not allow this (as you can get switches to drop other switches and only talk to end devices instead to ensure network integrity).

If you have an IT/networks department you should talk to them before adding anything as you can royally screw things up otherwise. If you just have a few computers in an office you should be fine just to add a switch like this however.
Hot, bought.
