It's a cheap DAB radio!!! Not going to be the best in the world but I'd use it camping to listen to radio 5 live or 5 live extra.
Has a three year warranty which means I don't mind if it's a duffer

Modern, functional and fun.

Soft touch finish
Headphone socket
Battery or mains operated
Choose from: Red, Blue, Purple or Grey

Worth every penny mate...they look cute too!lol

can anyone tell me what size of battery this takes please

4xAA

Fab Thankyou

I listen to my DAB radio every day...6music FTW! Only downside is my radio doesn't take batteries

This just shows how much JL inflate prices. Same factory me thinks....

Absolutely, I'd guess it's made by intempo

Or how much people copy designs of more expensive kit. Aldi radio 6 buttons on top instead of JL 3 buttons, different size and different display. Different radio in fact.

Is it me or do all DAB radios have either a bogging design, or like they were designed in the 1970s ?????

Ahh sharp eyes thanks for the that, well it's not much of a design to copy. I like mahogany myself.

They are all made and designed in China so absolutely cutting edge 2015. You wouldn't want to know how things looked 1970 in China. BTW, how about posting a pic here of how it should look so it is not 1970 and is 2014?

be very careful with the aerial

Do they have an alarm clock function?

What does this mean?

This DAB radio is Danish (AGK Nordic) but almost certainly made in China, like everything else that's cheap and cheerful? They probably supply J.L. This set of DAB radios (there is also one with two speakers and bluetooth) is top of the Which? magazine best buys - relative to spec and price. At £16.99 it's half the price of J.L's version and has presets and alarm. It also plugs into a usb port so it can be anywhere there is a usb outlet, including P.C/laptop. People should be snapping these up!

yes mate

Just picked one up today from my local Aldi... and am very impressed with the quality for the price. No brainer if you after a cheap DAB radio. Hot.

i have just got one works ok just unable to get it to preset my favourite stations at the moment .

Got a red one but super fuzzy DAB reception in York...

(still, voted hot!)

I had the same issue. Basically I found I had to press the second button with my finger vertically down to get it to click "right". If this becomes annoying I will take it back for another.

BTW the JL radio is made by Magicbox, which seems to be a brand in the AGK stable. Also the Aldi radio is available as a Magicbox too:

Mines going back. Software bugs. In this case you get what you pay for.

Anyone know how to get the clock in BST and not GMT? It's an hour behind.

I have clock problem too. Pity nice radio and neat size. Dab radios autoset, so no way to set manually. Though you can set the alarm obviously. On first turning on it was the right time, then I unplugged and after then each at each restart the clock says 00:00. Possible work around, wait till midnight plug in then leave plugged in or insert batteries?

I have one an it seems to work great bar one station - talksport which I listen to for several hours a day... This radio drops out for several seconds - anything from 3 seconds to 10... Really annoying.. Have changed it once having had the same issue with the first one I purchased.. Works fine on all other stations... Anyone else had the same issue??

Purchased one 2 days ago and mine too had software fault with the time - the makers know and said they would update the software? Did not wait to see if it happends so took it back and got me money back with no issue from aldi - it was a compact design but the quality is very poor even for the low price - noticed that a lot of aldis electrical seem to be going a bit tacky - but the warranty is a good back up I guess - I would suggest returning them and cash out.

Having problems presetting and can't get 70's channel.

Update! Just went through at £6.99 in the Irvine Aldi. Half a dozen left.

Got exactly the same problems. Love the design and bright pink colour but clock an hour out, can't present and it's even cutting out on radio 4. Only got it yesterday. Was really excited. Shame.

Thanks. Looks quite funky!

Hi I just got 2 today from Aldi for £8.49. Got one for home and one for work. Just thought I'd let you know. Grab a bargain quick!!!!!

Just bought one from Aldi. Reduced to £8.99. Three year guarantee. Very impressed at signal sensitivity. Says it has an alarm. Exact same model at John Lewis is £34.99 with a two year guarantee.

Just bought today in aldi dunston 9.99 but the radio has terrible dab recption

I bought one from ALDI. faulty software told ALDI they offered to give my money back but I wanted it repaired or show me it works! I am having problem setting/changing DAB stations. Sound etc superb. Advice any?

Hi,
Just a note of caution on these DAB radios. I got one from ALDI (Model: 10799). The manual does not say how to set the time of day. It turns out that a time signal is picked up 'over the air' to set the time automatically. However, summer time has now arrived, but the radio is still stuck in winter time (1 hr slow). It should have changed automatically, but didn't. And there is no manual method to make the adjustment. This is just plain dumb! Also, it is heavy on the batteries.

Please help me if you have instructions for last year's model, agk 10801. I can't get the alarm to set and it's driving me insane.
Does the new one work any better? If so I would get a new one.
