isn't 1 litre a bit small for this size vehicle

many new and larger vehicles now have a 1.0 turbo engine ... mind you 75hp is very 60's Vauxhall vivaesque

This would be like driving a coffin.

It seems a lot of large vehicles including VW group cars are now down sizing there engines to 1.0L. This Dacia previously had a 1200cc engine but this new 999cc is slightly more powerful.
carbuyer.co.uk/rev…iew

0-60 tbc presumably if it ever gets there!

Can't see these being fuel efficient you'd need to floor it everywhere to make do 30

You would be lucky, I think it was in 1972 when the HC Viva got the 1.8L slant 4 engine option that 77hp was achieved. The standard in the 1970s was a 1256cc ohv engine with 54BHP.

The 1970s HC Viva kerb weight was 833 kg though, compared to this much safer Dacia at 980kg. Both are much lighter than the 1.0L Seat Ateca in the other deal on here, 1300 kg.

tinted windows would be nice, at least you wouldn't be seen driving it

Thought it was a lease when I first saw the price. Surely can't be very good at this price even if acceptable on paper. Drive won't be refined, poor shifting, forget using the over taking lane, rubbish in getting you out of a bad situation, cheap interior, etc etc

Remember when the Kia come out? We all biaaatched about that & look at the prices now!!
So I'm going to test drive one soon & see how it goes. I frankly don't give a damm what others thing! I do need a new motor soon but don't want to pay out the price for this for a two year lease that I won't own afterwords

Afterwards

Giving it heat for price

It's £7,000 for a brand new small estate car! Nothing comes close - just try and price anything else up within £4k of this.

All the car experts dismissing a brand new £7k car when they are probably driving around in 52 plate Polos

My neighbour bought a new Skoda last year, I've never let him live it down, imagine my joy if he got one of these next. Fingers crossed.

tbc Gross Vehicle Weight (kg)

I don't know how much this weights either, but it is definitely a gross vehicle.

Well he is the one laughing as he got a great car from VW group of vehicles. What car do you drive that is so superior?

I Think they look quite presentable, it's not like years ago when you had box shaped Lada's or yugo's.
The interior looks very presentable to me also

Presentable? It looks like the inside of a 12V toy car.

Good price, BUT......

So it comes with a steering wheel then?

Voted hot. It's a lof of decent car for the money.

Would I keep up with the Joneses in this?

But wont get you in debt to the degree other cars would, financial safety not important?
Much rather be in debt but safe on the road?
People drive less powerful cars and are still alive.

Safety is a relative thing with more factors than the vehicle itself.

lol I think you may have a problem. We have a new Yeti and an 11 reg Golf. The Skoda is always used, it is way better car.

Good price, not sure I would like to drive this car, but ... Some may do. test drive it if you fancy it

This sounds like a very interesting and value for money vehicle.
I've bought Mercedes for the last 35 years but I would consider one of these for a second car. Anybody who sneers has the problem not me. I ran a Berlingo as a second car a few years ago and that was a lot of fun,it didn't have a speedo it had a calendar but I really liked it . You can tell my Merc its got a sign in the window,"my other car is a Panda" and it is.

It is essentially a Renault using tried and tested Clio mk2/3 and Megane mk2 tried and tested technology. It is cheap and nasty but for the price can't you really argue?

This price is crazy. Voted hot. However I'm not sure you'll get past 10 mph with an1 litre engine! I know we're muc more efficient these days and 1l is like a 1.4 from 10 years ago but that's quite a large car for such a small engine

Manual rear windows
Manual front windows

20th century spec!

But 3 year warranty! Add £850 for 7 years total (then throw away). Less than £1121 a year plus any servicing etc. Cheap motoring!

yes they feel cheap inside and the door handles are awful, but if you want a larger car that can cart kids and dogs round and have the piece of mind of a 3 year warranty, you can't go wrong with it. perfect for families that don't have the luxury of a load of spare cash. The lack of air con is an issue though! windows don't cut the mustard when its cold and you want to demist your windows

Whereas I would absolutely hate to be stuck owning one of these!

I would much prefer to buy a £7k used car for this price, but each to their own.

75bhp in a vehicle weighing less than 1000kgs so it should be as bad as you may think. For example a new Vauxhall Corsa sting 1.4 is only 73bhp but weighs 1160kgs.

I admit to being a bit biased, but things have moved on a little in Kia World...
